Welcome Jimmy,
You are doing great cutting from a PAD to about 5 stinkies a day :toast:

I did it with some friends, we all got our EVOD/EGO starter kits the same day - 3 of us quit completely while 2 of my friends went back to smoking cigs and 1 does both...like yourself.

It has become a hobby for the 3 of us, maybe thats why it was so easy for us to quit.

Dont be disheartened, the voices will quiet eventually...I dont think they will ever go away, they havent yet for me...I just tell them to screw off.

You are being a bit hard on yourself. Think how long it took to GET the habit your trying to break. Your never gonna stop anything in a day or 2.

I'm working on this myself a 2nd time. (vaping back before it was the cool thing to do) Now with all the new juice flavors and variety it is probably a bit easier to find something 'exactly' like you want.. BUT I'll tell you my secret. I'm using an old juice concentrate I came up with years ago, and I really liked it back then. I'm using it now as well, BUT - I get that craving myself.

My carry unit is just an Ego VV type with a protank 2 mini on it (or whatever random head I grab).. When I get that 'I have to have a smoke' thought/feeling/voice/crave,, I bust out my protank 3/aerotank etc - crank it up a lil bit, and get some big ole massive puffs. I normally chain vape the little ones, but on the big dual coil w/ some serious airflow, it WILL get you the nic your craving, even if your 'standard' solution is lower than what some say you should be at.

YMMV - but thats my 'fix' =) good luck, I'm right there with ya.

It does get easier; it took me two months to fully quit. Which was fine, I allowed myself to smoke, I merely avoided it as much as possible. It drifted down over time and finally hit zero. These days, the only time I think about it is when answering posts like these.

You can certainly raise your nic level if you want, but you may find that doesn't do it. Pro tip: nicotine isn't the only addictive substance in cigs, and it does take time to break those addictions as well (if you're addicted to them).

WTAs (Whole Tobacco Alkaloids) can help some people and I had moderate success with them. Or simply let yourself have that cig when you absolutely can't stand the itching need any longer...you'll find that those time periods extend out and eventually you simply put them down (if you want to).

^^ This!! Precisely!! If you continue running into difficulty after you fell *ready* exploring WTAs can really make a difference for many. My SO needed to rotate in a WTA here and there in the beginning to get over the hump. It is no fix all for everyone, but if difficulty remains, then it may be worth exploring.

Just remember in the interim to count EVERY cigarette you dont smoke as a victory!!!

I started vaping about two week ago due to several of my colleagues recommending it. I've had the odd cigarette here and there since (though not for the last 6 days). Talking to my work colleagues, some of them were able to quit just like that, some were really struggling.

The thing that has probably kept be off the smokes nearly completely is my laziness :D I do get the craving for one at least a couple of times a day but since I don't have any nearby, my e-cigarette "will have to do". I do feel it's getting easier every day with less and less cravings.

Another thing that has really motivated me is my love for travelling. Where I live, a pack of smokes costs nearly 10 euros so that was really stopping me from travelling as much as possible. I installed one of those counter apps to see how much I was saving not smoking. So sometimes when I have a really bad craving, I look at what I will be saving this month and imagine where I can go with that money, whilst vaping of course.

This forum has really helped me as well (even though I only signed up now) as there are is a mountain of knowledge available as well as many different stories of many different people.

Stay strong anyway and remember that every single cigarette you don't smoke, is a small victory :)

One suggestion I have is to keep that vape kit with you at all times and when you hear the voice to grab that pack, or reach for the pack without a voice talking, just grab the vape instead.

I found myself reaching for the pack while driving, but lo and behold there wasn't one there so I just had to vape instead!

If you keep your vape with you and take it to your normal smoke spots and use it instead, you're training your brain for both. Definitely find a flavor you can't get enough of and vape away.

Don't beat yourself up when you stumble, it will happen. Also, don't have the conversation with the voice when you find yourself going to the cig shop. Change your routine for filling your gas tank, buying your soda etc. You're retraining not only the chemical portion but an entire lifestyle you've built around a habit.

Reach out to others in the same boat, I'm 48 hours tobacco free after 14 years of pack-a-day.

I have been at this since Thanksgiving. I went from 1 to 1.5 PAD down to three or four cigs a day but havnt quite kicked it yet. I had to first find a flavor that I could enjoy all the time before I got down to a few. I try not to be to hard on myself and keep it in perspective. I have spent a moderate amount of money on equipment and juices but at least I still have most of it and its not going up in smoke. I actually sqitched back to a 510 battery "cigalike" the last week or so and it has helped, with the right flavor and a decent cartomizer. Also be careful on increasing nicotine to high if still smoking. I did, 24 mg and started getting sick. I stay at 16 to 18 and just keep trying. I.know I will get there soon.

I quit first day i got my kit. I do get occasional cravings but they soon dimishes when i vape.

Maybe i was lucky and found my all day vape juice the very same day.
Using ENjuice ry44 mixed with alittle menthol at 24mg (both of them) And it's enough for me. :)

Most people tend to underesitmate their nicotine needs so they go to low at the start. Rather go high at the start and aim lower later :)

Don't discount the value of finding a juice you like - makes all the difference.
I tried several when purchasing my 1st rig, most tasted like some variation of burnt paper to me.
Tried a product by moon mountain ; sweet mother of mercury.
That was a couple weeks ago & haven't lit a cig since. It's been surprisingly easy & I smoked a PAD for 4 decades plus.
Honestly, I think the juice is far more important than the gear for someone initially getting off the cigs.
Don't give up !

Like so many people have said and like what I have done 1 month ago when I quit, is overload yourself with the nic level the first week or 2 of quitting. WTA liquids may or may not work for you, but I recommend nothing less than 24 mg for now. Like dice57 mentioned, look into the Aspire BDC tanks. They are an amazing affordable dual coil tank that performs better than any clearos I've tried with no flooding.

I still keep my last pack of camel silvers in a drawer to remind myself that I don't need it, even though they are available(4 stoges left in the pack and havent touched 1 since I quit). As long as you know the end of you're smoking days are near, you are going to be smoke-free in no time. I have also indulged myself in the world of vaping, always exploring how I can improve my vaping experience. It has actually turned into a hobby for me now. Also I stayed away from old habits which were directly connected to smoking i.e. drinking alcohol, keeping myself busy while driving or during breaks, keeping my vape on me at all times especially after heavy meals, etc.

Its already a good sign that you're investing on an APV and involving yourself on ECF

Hope these tips help, good luck!
