Deliza,

When I first started at my job 23 years ago, I had to wear a suit everyday. Yuck! For the last 10 years we have abandoned that code and dress totally casual, unless we have a meeting scheduled with an outside vendor or client. Anyway, for a while I was holding on to all that gear in case I had to get another job and was required to get into full gear.
Not only did I not fit into them any longer, I got tired of hanging on.
I started having garage sales every year (we are only allowed to have one a year) for the past five years. I have sold at least 75 pairs of shoes and matching bags, 25 suits, 25 dresses, 30 pairs of dress pants, 50 blouses, camisoles and slips of every color and length. I made a few bucks and others in need made out like bandits since I sold designer suits for 15.00 and I paid mega $$ for them. I feel so good that my closets are now under control. I am so well cleaned out that I didn't need to have one this year!
Yay for me! They are a lot of work.

As a speech pathologist, I have a lot of latitude in what I wear to work, which is nice :) I try to cull the closet, so to speak, every 4 or 5 months. I never have garage sales though, no matter how hard I try to talk myself into it, so I usually just give it away. At least I have gotten a little bit better, I rarely pitch things that still have tags on them :)

Deliza, you will like this, When my kids were 3 and 4 they had lisps that put mine to shame, they also had their own little language. They were 4 and 5 before anyone would take them for speech therapy. The lady came out after testing and asked me if I knew my daughter had no problems! My son had a lazy pallette or something and needed therapy to form some letter sounds. I told her to treat them both, or otherwise my daughter who is younger, but bossy would have him right back where they were! So they went and learned..cured at last! LOL My daughter still says BuT-Tons insead of buttons with softer t's. She overdid the learning a bit.

Home invasion! They would have to step over my German Shepard..not that she would wake up.. Sorry that happened to you, it's too scary to think about, but at least they only stole things, not lives.

Hil, why would saying I have P.V. stuff I never use any more be bad? Maybe you can kick both addictions and spend the saved money on SHOES! I would need an intervention for that!

Yeah they'd have to come through my rottie now lol. Thankfully the Italian thieves rarely ever hurt anyone, still, took a long time and a Rottweiler to feel safe again. He stopped an attempted home invasion i our place in MD when he was about 1yr old or so when my sailor was out of town, scared those punks senseless and sent them running, and that was just his growl and bark lol, however had they broken in, I was not unarmed.

Thats funny, it was surely good training for her to have been bossy so early though :)

Truely though, lisps at that age are usually developmental, unless they are lateral lisps, which are deviant at any age.You used to (20 years or more ago) see them treated in the schools at an earlier age than strictly warrented, mainly because that was the good old days when there was time to do. You can still sometimes convince a hospital based therapist to treat it that early, but only if its self pay, because the insurance companies would never go for it. Ahhhhh, what it must have been like to be in my profession in the good old days :)

LOL, I know just what you mean Mary ... someone would have to get past the two in my Avatar, and another that is not shown.

I once read though that if you wake up and someone is already in your bedroom and already in the midst of going through your things, that it is best to pretend to still be asleep -- the theory being that if they were going to harm you they would have done it already instead of taking the risk of you waking up and screaming or harming them ... if they know you are awake it may push a confrontation.

OK, going to go check out makeup now. :D

I was going to reply to your first post "I'd love to see someone try my house" but then you made this post and I see you've already got that one covered ;) I actually dream of the day someone tries to get into my house... 5year old 130lb German Rottweiler (straight German lines are shorter and leaner than their American "cousins") that's meaner than the devil himself, and a 18month old Neapolitan Mastiff that's pushing about 105 at the moment (still growing of course).. not quite as mean as the Rott but she's hardcore territorial and follows the Rotti's lead so if he were to attack she'd turn on just as bad... Can you imagine the confetti? .. wow I sound soo sadistic

Sheppies!!! 1 alone isn't often enough.. but a pack of 3 :D.. I miss the ones dad used to breed :(

I wonder though.. If you didn't have your dogs.. COULD you pretend to be asleep? I doubt I could.. I'm too much of a fighter to take such a passive approach.. If I didn't have my dogs I'd probably still be sleeping with an 9inch blade like I used to.. Not to mention dad's just across the hall.. I'd start screaming n stabbing and let em deal with my 6ft 4in pappy when he come out of his room like a bull P.O'd someone woke him up :p

I must have gotten some crap therapists.. I had a speech problem until I was almost 13! and I started seeing them when I was about 6 (they wouldn't take me before then either) And the therapists aren't even the ones that cured me.. One day I just woke up and didn't talk like that anymore.. was the weirdest thing.. everyone thinks that it's because I got fed up with being picked on and subconsciously fixed it.. The sad thing is that I never could hear that I was saying things wrong (all of my r's were w's) .. I still revert back though when I get really angry.. and I can't say the word rural (which sux because there's a fairly main road around here by that name) .. I hated speach class though.. they always made me feel like I was ......ed and would get angry with me because I couldn't hear my mistakes :(

Ryle my baby is american bred but has the classic head and figure not the overblown proportions of a lot of american bred Rotties. He's also a rescue, we know he was papered and is show quality (sold intact) but his previous owner was abusive so the ASPCA saved him. ASPCA does not release the papers of it's purebred rescues though, or not usually anyways. Now he's my fierce protector, but really a big old cuddle bug, good thing I have other security lol, while he's got a feirce bark and would protect me from an animal I'm not sure he'd go after a person...hope I never have to find out.

He might surprise you. I had a dog once.. a Sheppie.. she was the biggest little lover on the planet (ever seen a 140lb German Shepperd FEMALE that wasn't fat?? 8-o) That girl had a 8inch tongue and when she was in a loving mood she'd start giving kisses 3ft before she got too you.. would literally try and suffocate you with kisses.. was repuslive I swear :p Never really thought she was good for anything other than giving love and cleaning dishes until a Pit tried to attack my mom one day when she was out for a walk.. Trixy tore into that pit.. damned near killed the little bugger before mom could pull her off of him, then tried to get the Pit's owner after she was pulled off the PIT!

Then when the cops came to my dad's house (long story) and my rotty put 6 cops back over the fence (yes they were armed.. no they couldn't get the guns pointed before he tagged their wrists) she didn't really attack but she was bowed up and growling refusing to let them in the house through the back door.

sometimes you never know when they'd attack.. a protective male...I'd bet he would.. my big ol boy.. I have no doubt (he even attacked my dad once when we got into a fight hehe..) but he's the same as yours with the family.. so sweet I call him "coco puffers" his favorite game...Pillow fights! I think I have a pic from one of the pillow fights on my profile..
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ks-giggles-picture1791-pillow-fight-coco.html

There.. that should link it.. not the clearest pic in the world.. was taken via webcam from the UK! :p

Wow.. I sound like an old lady going on and on about my dogs.. but that reminds me.. need to get some pics of my girl up there.. I've got about a dozen or so floating around somewhere :D

Thanks for the link to e.l.f. - like I really need anything!!!:p

However - if its a buck - I can't resist. It satisfies my shopping addiction without doing too much damage. 8-o

There is a page where you can search for stores.

Big Lots, Kmart and Mandees carry that line.

I will stop on my way home from work tomorrow and save on shipping.

Thats unfortunate that you had a bad experience, no one should have ever made you feel that way. w/r is not considered developmentally inappropriate until age 7, so that would be why they wouldn't take you before that (provided that was the only issue). As to your spontaneous cure at 13, I would suspect that that was when your neurological system reached full enough maturity (in a certain percentage of the population, this occurs at a much later than normal age) to correctly put together the fairly complex set of oral motor planning sequences required to make an r. Thats my best guess anyway, based on very limited information. I would, personally, never keep a kid on caseload for that many years with no progress, I would have turned you loose around 10 or so, monitered for stimulability of R, and pulled you back in at that time to fully establish the pattern. But, thats just me..........
