Hi all -- I've been experimenting with different types of cotton for rewicking my CE4 heads. So, all you clearo users who rewick...what's your favorite material?

My experience so far...

Rolled cotton works well, when and if I can work with the stuff. Hard to make a wick, thread it, etc. And also hard to get just the right size. Often too big (dry hits), or too small (flooding). Doesn't seem to last very long.

Cotton makeup applicator pads work really well. Not as touchy with size. Very easy to work with. But don't seem to last long.

Cheesecloth. Presently my favorite. Harder to work with, but seems to work well even with a thick wick. Takes forever to soak up that first tank of juice, and a while to break in. But once it does, really shines. Seems to last a long time.

I stopped using cheese cloth and got peaches and cream 100% cotton thread from Walmart. People say to boil it first... I use all four threads then cut one or two of the individual threads right at the coil so it doesn't choke the feed hole (SRT or Others)

What size, or is there only one ? Hardest part of rewicking is getting the right size. Thread or yarn could solve that.

Hmmmmm... if you ask for this at Walmart I would ask for 'peaches and cream 100% cotten YARN'. I asked for the thread and the woman was looking through their thread display and said they didn't have it but I coulda sworn I had seen things by peaches and cream there, in their crafts area, in the past so I kept at it and asked some other woman about it and we found it and there was a whole display area with it.

It comes in various colors so I took the white but, probably dyed in any case so I guess I will cut up a bunch to size and then boil. Might do some cleaning in my ultrasound cleaner as well as that has worked good on the wicks that came with the vision egos.
