Making Menthol Blends

Hi everyone,

Quick question regarding the AVE menthol drops:

I've never made a menthol myself before and wanted to know what you think I should mix the drops with. I recently ordered a few juices from AVE, and they're all excellent, however I ordered some Boba's purely to try it out, even though I really don't care to vape tobacco flavors.

Have any of you tried adding the menthol drops to Boba's, and were you pleased with results?

If not, could you suggest another flavor that I might want to try using?

Honestly, I wasn't even sure if you use the menthol with pure vg/nic, and you're done, or if it's better to mix it with a tobacco or sweet flavor.

I mix mine with sweet flavors.
My coconut vanilla menthol is awesome & so is my peach menthol.

go EASY on the menthol until you know exactly what you are doing, that is my best advice.

I've never added menthol to a pre-mixed juice, so maybe someone else can help in that arena.

How easy would you suggest I start at? 1:20, less more?

I suggest to start with 1-3% (add to taste) some flavors will turn bad easily with too much menthol.

I put about 1 drop per ml, sometimes half that.

Normally I just read posts here but I felt that it was my duty to put in my 2cents. Here's a warning from someone who didn't listen to Ben a year ago when the menthol drops first came out. Do Not use more than 2 drops per 12ml to start or you may ruin your Boba's. I bought 3 bottles of menthol drops last June and haven't even used half of one bottle yet, yes it it that strong.

True dat Keith. The stuff is mighty. I've had a few customers buy multiple bottles at any given time and I'm almost tempted to call them before shipping it out to make sure they understand how strong the drops are and that they are to be added to a juice not vaped as is. The menthol is mighty!

I like menthol so I bought some drops a while ago. I tried 2 drops to 6ml and it was way strong. Next time I'm going to try 1 drop to 6ml.

I make my own menthol (crystals in a little vodka, then when dissolved I add vg) and I've used this mixed with Boba's and it's great. I prefer straight Boba's but sometimes for variety's sake, I put menthol in things. My menthol is mild, so if your menthol drops are strong, as everyone says above, be careful.

True, strong stuff. I agree start small and add to taste. I also find that drops from different places will taste different to me, not sure if it's the type of alcohol used or what, but I like these best so far. I suppose I could make my own for cheap but these are cheap enough and last forever.

Do the AVE menthol drops have any sweetness? I sometimes mix a half drop of MrsT's sweetener into my menthol.

Not that I can tell. It should be just crystals and some type of alcohol. Though I suspect Ben puts crack or something in his juice, it's waaay too good.
