Ok so thanks to a lovely member on here I have some juice ordered, and it’s 18mg which makes me happy! That was my preferred strength.
Question: should I order as much as possible ASAP due to this coming vapocolypse? I can prolly get six months worth. Hopefully by then I can find my liquid locally again?
My shop still has some atomizers, so I will go get a bunch of those….
Yeah so I just need to know if I should stock up (like I did for c0v!d lol) and what is this mess supposed to look like in 6 months? A year? Do we know?

Yes. Stock up. It wouldn't be a bad idea to look into DIY. DIY E-Liquid

Nobody knows what this will look like, but a bunch of certain authorities know what they want it to look like..

Thank you! OK I will stock up and I will look into DIY. I managed to get six boxes of my coils yesterday, that’s 30 total so I should be good for like a year I didn’t stock up as well as I could there though because if this is all going crazy and I’m going to have to start making stuff myself anyway, I will start learning how to do that now….probably fend off some of this inflation that way…

Which mess? The attempts by government monkeys to make vaping all but illegal, or the Cootie19 mess? Or other...

Some may disagree, but I feel that when people are saying to stock up on nic, the idea is to get liquid at 100 mg. per ml., as much as you can afford, as much as you have space to stash, as often as you can, with the intention to dilute it with plain pg/vg, to your preferred nic level. All of that while continuing to buy and use ready-to-vape in your flavor and nic strength, pending the full lights out vapocalypse. I store my supply in the fridge, with hardly any room left for food. Last year I opened some that was in there since 2016, and it was still fresh.

The time we have left is for learning to mix down the 100 mg. base, how to flavor it. There is a nice long thread about that in this forum.

I think everyone should also have a supply of a favorite mech mod that uses a single 18650 battery, toward the day you can't get vaping batteries with the regulated battery built into the device. That's my choice because, used with a safety fuse, it is considered to be as safe as a ready-to-vape battery with a regulating chip. My language may not be exactly correct on that, but you get it. Anyway, for myself I would never try anything using more than one battery, because of safety issues.

Again, lots of threads on all of these issues can be found in this forum, with lots of opinions and advice.

It's generally recommended to store nicotine in the freezer if you can. Preferably in smaller, coloured glass bottles. I don't know where you'd find childproof lids, but they may be around somewhere. Perhaps someone else knows.

@11yearsvaping - You don't want to store 100mg/mL nic base in the refrigerator for the longterm....just your already made eliquid you're buying. Nic base to use for DIY needs to be stored in your freezer for longterm storage. You buy the nic base and then transfer it into glass bottles with polycone caps to store in the freezer. Those particular caps force out the small amount of oxygen at the top of the bottle, when you fill it and leave about 1/4-1/2" headspace. Screwing the polycone cap on displaces the oxygen there. Oxygen, heat, and light exposure isn't good for nic base. You don't want to keep it in the plastic bottles it usually comes in for years to come.

The polycone caps aren't childproof, but you could use a shrinkband on them after you screw the cap on. I stored my bottles without shrinkbands on them, but packed them in boxes and then sealed the boxes with good tape. It's a good idea to label the box, too, and talk to people who have access to the freezer...to explain about not bothering the boxes.

Random DIY mixing and More

The reason I mentioned opening a bottle that was in my fridge since 2016, to find out the condition of it, is that it came in a thick plastic bottle with a tape collar around it. I didn't intend to open it unless I ever had to use it, but I decided to see how that and the other stored bottles were holding up over time.

I agree with the recommendation to put it in a dark glass bottle. The one I opened, I funneled into an amber glass bottle with a phenolic cap. The bottles that are still in their original packaging with tape sealed collars, I left alone.

But yes, it is complicated to have it stored if you have kids or frequent guests in the house. The phenolic cap is not child proof. Unless you are adult(s) alone, it needs to be somehow marked as a poison. Some say the 100 mg/ml concentrate won't kill on contact. I have not tested that, don't want to, but I have little double that drinking it could kill. A normal vaped mixture might be 18 mg. per ml. vs the concentrate at 100 mg per ml, almost 6 times as strong. 18 mg nic is an actual concentrate of 1.8 percent of the liquid. 100 mg. is a 10 percent concentration.

Elementary stuff, I know, but important when getting your mind around DIY for the long run.
