Hello!

I'm a new e-smoker, bought an njoy penstyle then a DSE901b in quick succession, new carts for both, a few liquids and now I'm waiting on some Johnsons Creek smoke juice. I HIGHLY prefer the DSE901b over the njoy, but I've decided to keep the NJOY anyway. The draw seems sooo much easier, more like a cigarette, on the DSE901.

Anyway, the ecigs have cut my analog smoking in half (I was a pack a day-er). I'd really like to make the switch to ecigs totally, but I still occasionally crave real cigs, so I'll really have to force myself to stop.

I welcome any suggestions you have! Obviously, I won't have any analogs around, will put away all the ashtrays & lighters & stuff out of sight. Did anything else make the transition easier for you?

I think I had about 3 cigs the first day I had my DSE901b then i've not had one since, nearly 2 weeks now:) To be honest I felt it easier still having the normal cigs there, I never said I was stopping smoking it was to help me cut down it just kind of happened,i prefer the E cig, plus there wasn't the added pressure of saying i'm never having a cig again.

i got rid of all my lighters, ashtrays (well...my one ashtray, washed it and put it in the cupboard), and absolutely no cigarettes in the house. I have other nicotine methods around, like the nicorette inhaler and the gum. but this was easy . esmoking is quite nice, and i think i prefer it. i love the nice drag of a cherry flavoured eliquid. and the smoke isn't hot and irritating.

i blew vapour on my cat's face and he didn't even close his eyes ( i know i know, but it was funny--just once!)

this is rude but: the only way to quit analogues completely is to not smoke any more of them. try cutting down from where you are now over the next week or so, buy your last pack, and then see how it goes, once you are done. if you can go one whole day without a real cig, you can do it for the rest of your life.

Hi Jenny-

I smoked for 32 years, and what I did was just let my cigs run out. I had about half a carton when my first e-cigs arrived. I just let them run out. That was about a month ago. I love ecigs as much or more. I had thought of buying cigs as I waited for orders from puresmoker and e-smokey treats, but found I had no desire for analogs. WOW. I never would have believed it. I did gum, patches and cold turkey. This gives me all I love and none of the downside.

BTW, 2 thumbs up for both puresmoker.com and e-smokeytreats.com
Great prices, super-fast delivery. I started with njoy, but these others are way impressive and they will get my repeat business. Waiting for epuffer, but since it is taking so long won't revisit them. Glad I have enough kits since my hubby will be using them to get off the smokeless tobacco. He quit smoking about 8 years ago and went to the chew-but he is liking ecigs and I will have enough to share.

I didn't say it either, I just thought I invested a chuck of cash and I'd just see about letting my cigs run out. And I just did. And find I prefer the e-cig, and I love the no smoke (my cats hated it and they don't react at all to the vapor). And my daughter is so happy (she didn't like smoke), and I am too with no fire, smoke, odor, guilt, restrictions.

its a week today that i stopped on the analogs, my e cigs came in the post and i was half way through the packet, but i just said to myself, i'll try my best to just go along with these.. and i did, 1 whole week without an analog, i could never have done this without the e cig, i used to be a pack a day-er too.

I still have half a packet of analogs in the car, for just in case my battery or atomizer fails or incase i forgot something, but i dont have an urge to have one of them.

Stick with it, probably the best thing to do is just try and give it a day without an analog.

Good luck!

36mg liquid with some good throat hit made it 100% easy for me. I let myself run out today though and have been relying totally on my JC sampler pack (just ordered some 36mg stuff) and found it not nearly as satisfying. With the juice I prefer I can sit outside with my wife whilst she smokes a analog and not want one. With the smooth stuff (Johnson Creek) I just want a cigarette now .
I had myself fooled into thinking smother was better, and for me it seems it's not. Not to say it will work better for you, but for me it does.

what was realy good about the e-cigs was there was no effort needed. I got the e-cig to use to get by with when working with no intention of giving up tobacco. On the second morning I came down looked at the tobacco and picked the e-cig up as a prefered choice. For the first few days I smoked tobacco to cover for lack of supplies. They arrived 2 weeks ago and I havnt smoked since. The tobacco is still around and I still have the idea of being an occasional smoker. Maybe its because I am not thinking about tobacco that it dosnt bother me.

My guess, if you still crave real cigs, is you are maybe not using a high enough strength liquid...? You could also simply try, (if you haven't been), using a slooow inhale, it vaporizes the liquid better.

I still have all my analog gear out, doesn't bother me at all. I recently went from 2 packs of FF 100's to zero, without even trying. I do start the day with 36mg liquid, and I will go lower down thru the day. ymmv. :)

Reading up on quitting smoking, the benefits and so on might help a lot. Just thinking of it as real quitting (notwithstanding whatever the WHO, Ramones and Mexican government says) because that is what you are doing. Quitting smoking. Quite a fight, but worth while. And once you finish your firs year off the smoke, you can go on and work with your other addictions, too. Like alcohol, nicotine, coffeine... ;)

Hi all!

Thanks for the good feedback. I'm going to my parents' house at christmas for a week and I don't want to have to go outside to smoke while I'm there! Plus they will be thrilled to see i've given up the analogs. I'm even thinking about getting my dad an e-cigar for christmas... mom made him give them up years ago :)
