Hi, I'm new. Not a new smoker, but a smoker of analogs for over a decade with an increased interest in vaporized, electronic cigarettes. Chet Zar mentioned it on Twitter one day and recommended XHale02, what he had picked up at a gas station. I have been researching this crap for 2 days, spending a ridiculous amount of time deciding what is the best for my husband and me.

So here's what my research has come down to, besides confusion!

The BluCigs are relatively inexpensive and have a convenient pocket charger. But while the Blu branding is quite nice, I have a feeling the actual products are not as awesome as they appear, and for some reason I don't believe the reviews from ecig websites because they are all so confident in every brand.

We are most interested in the following brands, but I don't know which is best. I took a look at the Joye eGo (love the stainless steel), the PS Ace [KR808D1], Icon, and Prodigy V3 (all referenced from PureSmoker.com) Btw, which is the best distributor for buying online? And, which of the brands from Puresmoker (or similar) would you most recommend, and why?

My husband and I have been hand-rolling, additive-free, filtered American Spirits for nearly a decade. We typically spend $60 a month on the Spirits. We smoke about a pack a day, shared between the two of us, as we normally split a single cigarette at each smoking interval. Sometimes on the weekends or at social events, we will smoke more than that.

We REALLY like the idea of e-cigs. We both enjoy the act of smoking and it's "benefits". Heh. But, I'm going to be honest, we don't really have the money to kill on the habit, which is exactly why we went to hand-rolled. Let alone spending crazy money finding ways to KEEP smoking, haha. So, we're looking for a quality vapor smoke, and will spend $60 - $100 to get started. How much does a pack-a-day smoker typically spend on juice and atomizers and batteries? We also want to be able to charge with pocket packs while on-the-go. We're not really into flavors but it will be nice to try. Should we go dip? Or those disposable cartridges?

Main thing: We don't want to be wasteful. Save money, get that nicotine.

Please help. Thanks in advance! :D If you need more info to effectively help us, I can probably come up with answers. :) Thanks again!

Hi Mr.+Mrs. I am fairly new to vaping also I started September 26th. I have not had a regular cigarette (analog) in 11 days, so I guess I would say that vaping is working for me. I use the DSE 801, it looks like a large black pen, but heck I am trying to stop smoking analogs so why have a e-cig that looks like a analog. I have just started using a drip so I can not say how well they work. But I would reccommend the DSE 801 to anyone who asks as they hold a lot of ejuice and the mouthpiece is very comfortable. How ever like all good things you will need batteries. I purchased a pass through(PT) to use when I am on the computer and I love it but when I am out in public then I need the batteries and as I am still new to vaping I am sure I am vaping alot more than needed. I hope you will get the answers you are looking for. I hope you make the right desicion on which ones to buy, as vaping is a wonderful experience.

Thanks for the info, Rainnie.

After talking with my husband while he was on a break, we've decided to go with the Joye eGo, also according to the talk about here on ECF. Now I just need to know what all I need according to puresmoker.com, or any other site that has good deals and customer service as we will be ordering online.

So, what all do we need to get two smokers started on vaping?

Even though my husband and I started with the Blu's, I don't recommend them to anyone as they simply do not work all that well. We are personally using the eGo's now after having used the 510's for a while simply because the eGo's have such a long battery life per each charging. The eGo passthru is also a good choice if you spend alot of time at a computer since you can having it charging the whole time you are using it and then if you go somewhere you simply unhook it from the USB cord, put it's cap on the end and go, the battery charge on it will last 6-8 hours of heavy usage. So that might also be an option for you to look into, then you would simply need to get some extra atomizers, cartridges and juice.

MoonRose, love that name. Thanks for the information! Since this is so new to us, when you say we need cartridges and juice, do we then drop juice on the cartridge, insert, and proceed to enjoy a vaporized smoking experience? Are cartridges reusable? recyclable? The atomizers are obviously going to putter out after a while, yes? Do I understand this correctly? The eGo battery stays charged for 6-8 hours, that is excellent. Would you recommend a pocket charger, or just the USB for the eGo? Sometimes we do spend quite a bit of time on the computer while working from home but other times we're out in the field.

I wish there was one simple answer to all your questions. There are thousands of posts on this forum and it can be overwelming.

At $60 a month for two people smoking I can not say you will save huge money by vaping. For me being in NY and spending $10.20/pack at 1.5packs/day makes for a much different model. I also feel much better since giving up smokes and I can not put a $$$ savings on that but is is a huge enormous plus for me.

I have been analog free for 85 days. Started with a brand called eco-cig disposable. bought eco-cig starter kit (similar to the blu) and spent about $75. Bought juice since carts for the thing where $15 for 5 and I was using 3/day and refilled carts. Checked out some of the models you listed above and went with a 510 starter kit w/2 batts. Bought PCC added 2 more batts and passthrough. Bought extra 510 atty's and blank cartomizers and juice. 510 was nice but the battery life (about 45 for me) was a downside. Bought eGo 2 batt starter kit. Added 2 900mah batts and 1 650mah batt, LR atty's (510 & 306), more juice and drip tips. Have spent about $600 in 85 days or $7.05/day. I do have a lot of juice and spare parts and that is the reason when I upgraded I satyed w/joy product. I am happy with the 510/eGo set up but find I am itching to buy a mod now!!!

Whatever product you choose you should look for one that has upgrade capabilities (i.e atty's will work with larger batts etc.). I have been biten by this hobby and have spent more than I have had too since I like gadgets and don't ever want to be craving an analog because of a dead batt or atty.

Many will chime in read, listen and make a choice that is right for you and your lifestyle. Good luck and welcome to the forum

JOYE EGO : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

We've bought from this supplier many times and have had no problems at all, as a matter of fact, I have a passthrough on it's way now from them. They are in China, so it will take 7-10 days for your order to arrive from them. They carry everything you need for the e-Go and are priced reasonable, plus many of their eGo items are on sale right now too, with lots of colors to choose from. If you go with the passthroughs you should order at least 2 atomizers for each one at the very minimum, we use the 510 mega atomizers and cartridges ourselves. You may also want to get the cone atomizer cover, just makes it look more put together is all, but it does look really nice on it, though not a complete necessity. Cartridges can be reused and there is a section on the boards about how to replace the batting filler and what to use or you can just put out the question and folks will be happy to answer you. My husband and I also have the car USB charger as well so that we can plug our passthrough's in while we are driving if we are going to be out and about for any length of time, so that is also an option you might consider as well. All of that would be about $91 plus S/H for 2 passthroughs, 4 mega 510 atomizers, 1 pack of 510 mega cartridges, 2 cones and 2 USB car chargers.

I'm not sure who would be the best to get e-juice from, as I mix my own so I don't buy the pre-mades. There are lots of folks on here that know more about who has the best e-juice than I do.

Hey guys, and welcome. It sounds like your on the right track. The Ego is definitely awesome. I know two people who own one and love it. Also, I can't say enough good things about PureSmoker. I have the Icon, and it is my go to device. I work with a couple of guys that have the V3. It is definitely a great performing device, but in my opinion, a bit too large. The only thing I am not crazy about, is the atomizers that PureSmoker sells. Have always prefered to get them from elsewhere. You are definitely in the right place, and good luck.

I would recommend The Icon because it is a small simple dependable device. The battery lasts all day. It works well every time, and there is really nothing to go wrong with it. I prefer the 510 model and always use LR (low resistance Atomizers). I have found the best LR attys for your dollar is from EastMall.

The Ego is a good device because it is small, lightweight, very sleek looking, and affordable. You can find a full kit for one for about 60 bucks. The only downfall of it is that the switch (to activate it) is a part of the battery, so if any one component fails, you have to replace the entire device. The battery life isn't as long but you can purchase an EGo battery with a larger lifespan nowa days. I seem to think the full kit comes whith 2 devices (standard lifespan batteries) if I'm not mistaken.

Very Important. Once you decide on the device will are going to get, be sure to purchase plenty of spare atomizers, and juice. Atomizers do not last forever. Some last a week, some last 2 months. Also with a 3.7 volt device (Icon and EGo) I strongly recommend a LR atty, which will make a noticeable difference in performance. Do not however use a LR atty with a 6 volt device (V3) It's a lot of information at first I agree, it almost has to become a hobby for a couple of weeks, but to be honest I enjoyed the learning process.

Hello again, and thanks for all the feedback! We are super excited to receive our new eGo devices! :D We really are, it's childish. Haha!!
We feel pretty good going with Puresmoker, and a friend later recommended them to us, as well. We were very close to choosing the Icon, but decided not quite yet. Since we're such newbs, we feel the eGo will do just fine for us until we want to upgrade. :)

Here is what we got: (Please tell us we got all the right makin's)

2 Joye eGo batteries, with KIT that contains 2 Atomizer Cones, 2 LR Joye 510 Atomizers, 1 USB Charger, 1 Wall Adapter

plus this extra stuff:
1 Joye510 LR Atomizer (the photo shows 3... We get 3, right?)
2 Zip Tips
A Juicie Pack and 1 'Ccino

As a former AS smoker myself I suggest that you get high nic juice to start with. Either 24 or even 36 mg. AS contains more freebase nicotine then other brands by a wide margin.

All the pocket chargers designed for e-cigs are made for the smaller ones that look like cigs. There are still alternatives for the others though. Check places like Amazon for portable usb chargers.
