So I just pulled the trigger and ordered the Mako shorty from Beyond vape.

http://www.beyondvape.com/store/bv-tanks-atomizers-c-112_117/beyond-vape-mako-shorty-rda-p-2581.html

To my understanding these are made in America, and after watching what few reviews I could find I decided to pull the trigger. Trying to find something that will replace my Deringer clone. I know a lot of people like the Deringer, but I honestly can't stand the thing. I have been using it with my nickel builds in single coil mode so far, and its just not doing it. The Mako is said to have an amazing balance of flavor and vapor, and it comes with two drip tips. One standard top and one chuff top, which I haven't seen on a short rda really. What do you guys think?

I like the looks of this. Might order one. I need something LoPro/Derringer sized.
That what my mind set. A member of my vape group on facebook has one and he loves it. It looks like it gives a good balance between flavor and cloud based on what I've seen and read. The video reviews for it look pretty sick, and a short RDA with a chuff cap is pretty bad a#@.

For sure. After seeing reviews it's gonna be this or the LoPro.

I've got a Mako Shorty and been using it for a little over a month now. Would say it is very Derringerish, but much more. Better quality, more air, and easier to build on. Much more versatile atty at a much better price point. I modded mine for BF as I only use BF devices. I like dripping but can't stand carrying a bottle of liquid around with me so the BFr's are the best route in my vape journey. You will definitely enjoy this one, I'm sure...

You might also want to check out this thread when you get a chance and you will be alerted to any and all new RDA's that are either being talked about or about to hit the market. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/rda-round-table-discussion-and-lookout.686745/

I like mine. I've had it for about a week. Good flavor and suprising cloud production as well. I'm running a single Clapton right now at .3 in mine
Thats awesome to hear! Glad you like it, hopefully I'll have the same experience when mine gets here. I have yet to build a clapton coil. I might test it out today on my Troll.

I have browsed that thread a little. It is a little overwhelming, but there are some cool things in there. I'll have a peruse a few paychecks away and see what else is out there. Hopefully in the Mako price range or lower though. Some of these RDAs are just ludicrously expensive.

I have 2 derringers one stainless steel and one copper.

If I take a good long lung hit then I get also a mouthful of ejuice onto my tongue as a bonus. have short drip tip on both.

has anybody here had the same experience....
I would get that with mine too. I was always burning my tongue and giving me the nicotine "numb tongue". I just all around don't have a high opinion on the Deringer.

Some people awhile back were saying that if you position your coils in a certain way you can avoid the ejuice in your mouth syndrome....

Here's my Derringer deck with a flat ribbon coil taken from an old burned out bread toaster---but I still get juice in my mouth.....I think you can build a dripper

only so small and low and then the juice is bound to splash up into your mouth.........I don't know if this new dripper has the same problem or not...the Mako Shorty----

doesnot sound like it is too bad according to the stories posted......

Nice picture! Maybe the splash back wouldn't be so bad if the coils aren't quite in the middle? Maybe closer the the side of the deck? Not sure, I've stopped messing with mine. I don't know if the Mako has that problem, but I think it has a pretty con-caved top cap so it shouldn't be so bad.

I have never had any problems with sucking up any juice because of 2 factors...

1st - I build all my coils as close to the edge of the deck in adjacent to the airflow as I can get them without shorting...
2nd - I use wide bore drip tips so as to not get a straw effect...

Good to know! So, I take it that the chuff that comes with it is pretty beast mode?

I can see your methods would solve the problem of ejuice in mouth.......good points to remember when building on the Derringer----I think my over squonking

added to the problem along with the position of my coils-----thx for sharing this info........
