I can't make sense of this. I am a relatively experienced builder and this is now my 6th rda. I have three posts, 4 posts, weird posts. I rarely have problems with a short.

I just got it today, threw on a single coil after rinsing it out to test, and went about it. Worked great.

I have now been trying to put on a dual for about 90 minutes and my third attempt has just shorted out, again. I know all the reasons shorts typically occur, and none of them appear to be a problem. The coil isn't touching any other metal beyond post holes and I am using ceramic tweezers. Screws are tight enough and the cap isn't on. This happened first with twisted 26g wire so I thought there was a problem with the twist, until it happened trying to build a simple round 24g dual.

If unfamiliar, the Mako Shorty is a 3 post with a gold plated positive pin.

I've already taken out the coil that last caused a short or else I would take a photo.

What could be causing this problem beyond the obvious? I'm going to try a dual coil single wire build and see what happens.

Yeah, it actually did seem to be something to do with spinning and/or the connections in general. I thought the pin was adjustable, and it kind of is, but you really can't adjust it much before the center post starts spinning. Right now my primary PV is a little janky, the connector... it's broken but couldn't afford a new one until now. I had to unscrew the pin pretty far, too far, and that was a big part of the problem. Unfortunately I still need to have it unscrewed farther than I'd like to use it on that device but it's been working fine as long as I pay attention, and it's all the more fine on my devices that aren't broken lol.

Thanks!
