I was just looking closer at the manual battery I have... I've read the manuals are better for dripping because they're sealed, but this one looks like it's not. It's hard to see in the fuzzy pic, sorry, but the hole in the middle is open, no plug or anything, and down at the bottom there is another hole that looks like it opens into the parts below.

The USB pass through also has a center hole, but that one looks closed at the bottom. Hard to tell for sure though. These are the V2s I got before finding out about better deals here.

The fuzzy dark spot in the upper Left of the center hole is the hole in the bottom.

I started with V2 also and noticed the same thing. It's a shame that a company as large as V2 touting how great their products are is so behind in technology and selection of batts and liquids. No one on the V2 forum seems to notice I guess,as I've never heard any kind of talk about the unsealed manual batts on there. They are deff unsealed :(

i started with V2 as well. i later found out that they are overpriced (the replacement batts are over twice the price of other gen 1 batts 0_o ). while the pricing isnt good, the products are still decent. not great but decent. FTR my manual V2batt is 100% sealed.

regardless, their customer service is good and they will most likely just send you out a new batt.

Thanks AshleyNonSmokie and Kemosabe; yes, I discovered the overpriced part as soon as I found this forum. I ranted a little bit in my first post about them very obviously paying reviewers to post fake reviews all over the internet. At least the gear is all working like it should. I emailed them explaining why I wanted sealed batteries for dripping/refilling, and asked if all of their manual batteries are unsealed like that now.

If you look closely, you can see that the center hole doesn't go down into the battery chamber. If it is like the manual batts I have, the hole in the battery connector is just a small depression. I think "sealed" is a slightly misleading term. The manuals are not "sealed" and are not waterproof or even water resistant. They can't be submerged and you shouldn't get them wet. What is different is that you don't draw air through the length of the battery to activate it. The button does that. With manuals, you still have to have holes in the screws to draw air through the cartomizer.
Manuals are better for dripping, because if you overfill the cartomizer and don't blow out the excess, the liquid will drain out of the cartomizer onto the battery connector and down the center hole. If you have a manual, the liquid won't drain down into the battery. If you have an auto it could. However, the autos I've been getting have a tiny pin hole in the top of the battery, making it very hard for the thick liquid to drain down into the battery chamber.
I've never killed an auto and I've been dripping for over a year.

Good to know John K, thanks. The company wrote back that all of their batteries have that hole but that they are testing sealed auto batteries. The small hole at the bottom that does go into the main body of the battery is irregular, so that one might be a manufacturing accident. The end of the USB pass through has one more like you describe, there is no opening at the bottom of the hole.
