manual or automatic - which do you prefer?

Just curious to hear which type of battery you prefer, and why. I have a couple of each and enjoy them all, though I'm a bit partial to automatics. My next purchase is going to be an X2 from SI, and I'm wondering which way to go with it. I've noticed a lot of people saying they like automatics for "cigarette" style batteries like Volt, V2, etc., and manual for bigger batteries like the X2, Ego, etc. I'd be really interested in hearing which type y'all prefer, and why.

BTW, I smoked about a pack a day for more than 40 years, and then just totally lost interest in any form of tobacco when I started vaping. I haven't had an analog for months!! It still seems kind of unbelievable, but it's great.

Manual all the way here. That extra bit of control is a big plus and the fact that most manuals are sealed means I don't have to be the neatest person in the world when it comes to filling things.

Definitely a manual. I don't like the automatics. The manual gives you better control and just vapes better.

Manual all the way for me as well. As TarfreeMe & Vapingrilz says, a manual batter gives better control, plus it is sealed.

Manual for anything above a "mini." For the 5-click on/off (so it doesn't fire if the button gets bumped or pressed accidentally), and the control of the vape. As for sealed, well, if the auto isn't sealed, then it shouldn't be had, as it is old technology. Yes, there are still a couple of tiny pin holes in the sides of "sealed" autos, but they are much better now when dripping. However, I always drip away from the battery regardless of auto or manual.

Also a vote for the manual BUT I have some friends that were very light smokers and they prefer the automatic. Myself I like the manual because less chance of damage to battery from juice and if I need a strong vape I can control that aspect.

Manual by far. Better control, warmer vapor, no cut-off and sealed so no eliquid and can leak into them and kill the battery. Plus no strange double inhale to get a decent vape.

generally i've found that everyone that has tried both types of battery has found the manual superior far in away after getting used to it, myself included....nothing that i can say hasn't been said already in the replys...it's just better

Manual here too. Better control on vape strength. Sometimes the automatics just shut off too soon.

The X2 is way bigger than an real cig, so if ur getting away from that "real cig" feel anyway with the size, I'd go with a manual. I do like both autos and manuals in 808 size. So maybe get one of each

Is there a 510 900+ mah auto? My roommate might like one.

We're using Volts so far but getting interested in some of the 510 stuff. Of course, there are adapters but they don't always work.

I prefer an auto when driving my (manual!) car, my roomie likes autos. For everything else, INCLUDING minis, I like manual. I have 2 auto and 1 manual mini, 2 manual and 1 auto X2.

Sometimes it's hard to get a mouthpiece that is flat-tipped to line up OK on a manual so that I can vape with the button in a comfortable place. My solution has been to get round-tipped driptips but it was still something that reduced my choices.

Do people actually drip on autos now? Really?

I love the manual battery. Granted, I started just recently with a manual, but I don't think I could ever use an automatic. Like in other facets of my life, I enjoy more control over what I do.

for you, i'd stick with the auto volt for driving, only because you drive a stick, and the larger devices have quite a bit more weight on them, which would be a bit cumbersome if you want to hold it with your mouth while you reach down to change gears....as for a 510 auto...i have no idea, but i'm going to *assume* no, as almost all 510 are manual mid-sized devices, but i'm not always right....so you may luck out there
