i haven't decided between the auto and manual yet. the auto would allow a natural index/middle finger straddle or thumb/index finger pinch. the manual would require going from the straddle to the pinch or some other technique. the auto would require learning to do a drag prime and then the full drag or doing a slow, long drag.

i thought most of the timers were set at 9-10 secs. i think too the kr8 uses a vacuum switch so they're safe to have in the pocket. the manuals could accidently be activated in the pocket.

i'm thinking of going with the auto batteries for $9 from health cabin. they only sell the manual usb, so i'll probably end up getting the manual usb since it is only $10. perhaps it will train me how to hold a manual and i'll replace the autos with manuals later.

I vote for both!! I didn't intentionally plan on having an kr808 battery but that is what is used on my Magnum. Then I got into the cartomizers for ease of use when I'm out and about. So I ordered two manual ones in pretty colors:D to use with the cartos.

The next idea was to give an auto battery a try again...it has been more than 6 months since I'd used one. So I now have two autos being shipped. I like covering all my bases!!!

i think the newer model of the kr808b-1 has a 5 sec cutoff while the older one has a 10 sec cutoff. i think the newer one is known as the vapor rite kr808b-1 or dvr9. i still haven't decided on the primer puff of the auto or having to do a .... hit on the manual and risk having it go off in my pocket. there are different lengths on them too. wish they would all specify the length and cut-off on them.

if the vendors just had everything in stock in black, platinum, auto, manual, passthrough, and if they all had the corded usb charger, usb car adapter, and separate corded ac charger. and if they all left off their logos or had nice simple white or platinum logos.

thanks. i ordered a kit from v4l and ordered 3 matte black ones they call dvr9 from east mall with carts and the pcc. i'll find out. do you know the cut-off time for the ones at east mall, heavens gift, or health cabin?
.

There is a thread on here SOMEWHERE that goes into the differences between Kr808d-1 and d-2 and dvr9 and all the rest of of them. Also, which cartos fit which model. You may want to find that before you order from a bunch of different places. I just read it today but I can't remember where. Sorry. Probably on this forum somewhere.

i read the post, but the conclusions were confusing. so i figured i'd order from two different sources so i can compare and get a better chance of having a model of the model that i would like.

I find with a manual and a Kr808 cartomizer, you don't even have to draw on it Just put it in your mouth and press on the button. In nine seconds it fills your mouth with tons of vapor.

So.... I read your post and just happened to have a manual 801 in my hand. I tried it... it worked! Then got a Kr8 manual... and tried it... and it worked! LOL - I never would have thought of trying that! Now I need to get my other manuals and see if they all work. :)

i guess holding it isn't an issue. i'm finding i hold it like a pipe, which would make pressing the button convenient. just still seems like it would be a .... hit. the primary issue would be being able to put in your pocket without the button getting accidently pressed, which isn't a problem if you want to use a case.

really, i'm finding my concerns were really not that important, though i'm still wishing v4l shipped something other than a white passthrough, though it looks nice when i removed the sticker and revealed the nice stainless carto. i'll probably order a stainless or black passthrough when i order more cartos, or perhaps work on sanding off the white paint with steel wool to reveal the nice stainless steel underneath.

i'm actually finding the flavors a bit bland and all tasting like smoke rather than the flavors, but i've been hitting them hard and will likely go through 5 carts today. i even ordered the 24 mg nicotine.

I have a LeCig D1 auto with a 5 sec cutoff. I rarely hit the cutoff but occasionally I do, when using low nic cartos. I don't consider it to be a problem. I also have a V4L VK manual with a ~10sec cutoff. The manual batt sounds like a pain to use but it's not. I like both of them and I'm glad I have one of each.

Side note:
The current LeCig D1 carto will not work on the current V4L VK manual battery.
The current V4L carto will work on the current LeCig auto batt sometimes and the batt connection has to have been freshly cleaned.
