My impression is, that pod systems have replaced - irrevocably - the eGo-CE4 systems et similia.
Until few months ago, I used to carry in the shirt pocket one or two 1000 mAh eGo with Aspire K1 clears. A truly great backup vape.
My last purchase, was six Vivid 1000 mAh batteries - which can deliver 3 Amps- last January.
Now, I have, hidden in various pockets, one Aspire Spryte, one juul with some pods, and one mini Fit.
I gave the eGo/K1 the honourable discharge. I do believe many other MTL vapers did the same, soon followed by the manufacturers.
eGo/K1 are more durable, are the exact equivalent of a pod system, are cheaper, but they look and feels like a car from the '80s.
If I am allowed to jokingly makeup a word, the eGo / K1 are from the beginning of the Vapocene...
That's maybe true, I've not actually tried any pod systems in the here and now but they sound pretty brilliant compared to what I quit smoking with. I started with the really early days cartridges back in 2011, and used those for a surprising amount of years, so when I first used an eGo thing it was a massive revelation and superior in every way. Especially being able to choose from a seemingly endless amount of flavours as opposed to Tobacco or Menthol.
Since I already have 2 aspire clearomizers for back ups I don't really see the point in investing in a pod system I'm only occasionally going to use but they look pretty good and intriguing from what I've seen.
Don't underestimate the expense though. I don't know how much the cost differs between pods/clearomizers but for a lot of people I know that would be a massive factor, maybe the main factor, in their choice. Especially if they're in 2 minds about whether vaping will help them off cigs or not.
Also Vapocene, lol
