Bruce from COV posted the following in another thread.

I do provide a Replacement Tube for the regular MAP Tank if you request one.

However, Bruce was out of the tubes when I requested one.

So I just ordered some tubing from McMaster-Carr.

Item number > 8585K13

Polycarbonate Round Tube, 3/4" OD, 5/8" ID, Clear

Sold in 1' increments up to 8'

$1.73 per Ft. + Shipping

EDIT to add;

Buying my own tubing allowed me to cut a piece of tubing 29mm long to convert one of my regular MAP tanks into a Mini MAP tank.

Bruce is great about things like this. One Map Tank tube was cracked when I got it. He had one out to me in no time. When that one came in, I laid everything out to reassemble, stepped out of the room for a second, and one of my monster puppies had stolen it and crunched it into pieces. Bruce sent me another one, although it was totally my fault. I did ask him to put it in with an order so he wasn't out the shipping. It gave me yet another excuse to order from COV.

Sweet Bruce does take care of us.

Alice

{edit} Like I need an excuse to order anything from COV. What I sometimes have to convince myself, is to spend more money for really neat COV things I really want but don't have to have.

I'm hoping someone on here can help me. I have a new MAP tank, I LOVE the thing....but I can't get it to stop leaking no matter what I do. It's not leaking at the connection or the delrin caps....it's leaking on the inside where you put the rubber gasket on the top of the CE2. I have tried using a rubber peice from a Different ce2, pushing it in further...everything. It leaks through the filler holes, and around the edge of the rubber peice. I don't know if the delrin tip is just a smudge to large or what. I LOVE this thing...if only I can stop it from leaking. I have $1 a Mil. juice and don't wanna keep losing it. WheN I take the drip tip off there's always a big puddle forming on the top of the little rubber peice. Man, this stinks because I really love this thing. Any help would be REALLY appreciated.

Christophyerdav - it does sound like the silicone ring isn't fully engaged with the cap. Take a look at the way the ring is seated in this attachment. (ignore the wick in this one – it’s modded)
Picture 44.jpg

To get it to seat properly, I put the top cap on first, insert the bottom cap with the CE2 (without ring). Then I seat the ring through the tailpipe using a 3ml syringe plunger. The CE2 needs to be centered so I use a long thin probe or tweezers to nudge it into place then seat the silicone ring. When you look through the top you should not see any space around the ring. You’ll also faintly see the top of the cup through the silicone.

One other thing that could cause that is overfilling. I only fill to just above the bottom of the cup – where the heat shrink is on the tube. And don’t lay it on it’s side when it is full.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Since the proper length of the tube can be influenced by the CE2 cup floating up and down on the air tube I've been putting a longer DT tube (made from the carto tube) so that it is just visible under the top cap. Since I've started doing that the standard tube length of 46mm has worked fine on all of my replacements.

If you gently tape out the original DT tube you can (gently again) tap a longer tube into it.

Sorry I'm slow on this... been a bit busy.

In the first pick you can see one cap (top left) is the regular tube recessed about half way down. The one on bottom right I've extended the tube so that it contacts with the cup's silicone cap. On the original fitting, the tailpipe only fits into the top of the cap's tube to allow mounting the DT. If the CE2 cup is loose and floats down on the air pipe it can allow loose contact and some leakage.

The second pic. shows the original tube on the right and the tubes that I normally replace it with. The middle one is plenty long and what I normally use, but some prefer a longer pipe and I normally have them in a box mod so the longer tube can be necessary to extend the DT in some boxes. Just don't throw away those CE2 tubes - they do come in handy.
