Thought I would throw this rag in for an added bonus...
I was wondering why other people were giving 510's a bad review. I think I just found out why. I ran out of Joye 510 attys and had trouble finding more, and so I settled for a Titan 510 multi-pack with the wide gold bands on them. I tried one and I'm like.. WTF?!... I can't get any vapor, just a little whisp. So I thought maybe it was the one dud in the pack. I tried another, same thing, and another, same thing. The entire pack of 5 was like that. I've been using 510's for over a year and I've never bumped into this problem.
To make a long story short, I discovered you have to "break-in" the Titan 510's. They do get better with patience and time, but they're nothing like an authentic Joye, nor are they anything like some of the other black 510's with the standard thin gold band. I'm used to screwing on a new atty and vaping away like a mad-man. I hate attys you have to tinker with and break-in.
So I've learned a lesson on my own. The next time I see a wide gold band 510, I'll only get it if I absolutely have to. The Titan's have turned me away from them. I've heard that the Titan 510 and the Joye 510 are the same thing, but that is clearly not the case here. I can look inside them, compare them, and notice a few differences.
Joye 510 atty...
Thicker mesh on the bridge
Holds a drop more juice in the mesh reservoir
Barrel is a hair wider in diameter
Coil heats up more evenly across the ceramic cup end-to-end
Only floods when you do it on purpose (cleaning technique)
Gives clouds of vapor on the first try
Titan 510 atty...
Thinner mesh on the bridge
Holds less juice
Barrel is a hair smaller
Coil only heats up 3/4 dead center
Easy to flood without trying
Have to tinker, break it in, and finally 48 hours later it starts working.
So nope, sorry, it's not the same. A KR808D-1 cartomizer would even run circles around that thing!
And, if you're wondering... Nope, it's not a voltage problem. I tested them on my HV mod and got the same results, just a whisp of vapor. However, HV does help to speed up the break-in process, thank goodness. Now they work on a Joye 510 manual battery. Hurray!
