Easiest way to not make a mess on your nice new Woodville:

This is simple. I had a little trouble with the first nail polish I tried, but it turned out that stuff was some fancy stuff that needed a bottom coat to be able to produce some sort of optical illusion once applied and dried - It would not stick without whatever primer it's supposed to have. So, my only caution is that you should make sure you're not using whatever that stuff is.

I tried to use a toothpick to apply the colors. That didn't work very well.

I ended up using some masking tape above and below the wheel so I wouldn't get any nail polish on the wood. Then, I used my voltmeter to find the right spots to apply the polish (3.5, 4.5, 5.5v). I applied with the brush in the nail polish and cleared the excess with a toothpick from the sides of the wheel. Worked perfectly.

I don't think what color you use matters. Notcigs uses green at 3.5v, yellow at 4.5v, and red at 5.5v, but I just chose what looked like it might show up best. I had access to a whole bunch of colors. I just grabbed what looked like it would show up best.

So, it's easy. Just tape off above and below the wheel first and you won't get any on the wood or the electronics cover.

Like you need to add nail polish to your arsenal at the shop.
I Can see it now, Rob the perfectionist down at Rite Aid looking for just the right shade of Green, Yellow, and Red.

 To funny my friend when you put it that way .I would of course delegate the job to a subordinate
