correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't the marlboro man die about 20 or more years ago?
or is this a different marlboro man?

mike
p.s.oops my bad.evidently there were more than one.
The best known Marlboro Man was Darrell Winfield. He was the "Marlboro Man" in over 85% of the ads. He worked from 1968 to 1989. Born in Oklahoma on July 30, 1929, he was a rancher and is still alive today.
That's exactly right. Classifying this as a "premature" death is a bit of a stretch, since 72 is above the average life expectancy (at birth) for a man born in the early 40's. A more balanced interpretation would be that Eric Lawson (may he rest in peace) lived to the grand old age of 72 despite a life-long smoking habit.
In October 1987, David Millar, one of the first Marlboro Men on television screens in the 1950s, died from emphysema at 81 at a hospital near his home in New Hampshire.
