Hey guys. Had a brief check at the threads and couldn't see or maybe missed a thread about; I Know, when I get my sigelei 150 it is a good idea to marry the batts to the device. However, all my other mods take singles and I chop and change batts when some are full or need charging. Is it safe to swap batteries around generally? Thanks

not sure I understand the question, but in the case of the sigelei 150, since it takes two batteries, whatever batteries you use in them should be and remain a matched pair.

they should be used together, charged together, sleep together.
you'd want to have a few pairs, and not mix them up with each other or with other single batteries.

I think it's worded a little bad, you should buy a new set of batteries. Mark them 1 and 2 or A and B some way you can tell that they're a married pair. Them batteries go only in the sigelei you have. I have pairs that go in one device only and I have only single batteries I use in devices that only require one 18650

Cheers @edyle I think you have answered my question. So, when you are using single batteries, you don't have to match them with a specific device. Is it more about using the power correctly with pairs as opposed to safety? sos about the wording, I confuse myself.

Its ok to switch married batterys between devices just as you do single batterys but keep married batterys together.

When you have a series device such as that, you need to keep the batteries together, charged together used together. When runing cells like that the top spot gets the most stress which is why you need to rotate the cell position in the device as well.

When in a single cell device they can be switched around and so forth, but in a series the cells MUST be kept together.

Finally, I get it, lol. So it is about power consumption rather than safety? They won't blow up if I have mixed them up?

It is so that both batteries discharge the same.

Your mod will work with a voltage input of maybe 6.4 volts to 8.4 volts.
If you use two completely different batteries, for example a brand new battery together with an old battery, you could end up at some point where
the new battery is at 3.6 volts
the old battery is at 2.8 volts
3.6 + 2.8 = 6.4

your mod will work with that and cut off at that point.

but you might not be able to charge the 2.8 volt battery


when the lithium battery gets too low it can't be recharged

The easiest way for me was to mark mine (bought new-25r's) with a small sticker and taped over the sticker. I marked mine 1a/1b, 2a/2b and 3a/3b. I only use the 1's and 2's and the 3's are for my husbands mod.
When mIne need charging I swap out batteries and keep using my Sig.
When my husband's need charging he uses a different mod and waits for his to charge.

Finally, was waiting for someone to say that. Good Job.....I give my Pairs Names which are marked on the two and then Left, and Right. The left and right tell me what position though I must remember when it is time to rotate and they are opposite since I have married 2 pairs for my IPV4s. Seems to works for me.......

I have 6 LG HB6 30amp batteries, married in 3 pairs, (1a,1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b), they get charged together, and used together in their pairs only. Run them only in my Sig150 and my IPV3, no other devices, if I had mech dual battery, Sig150tc or Snow Wolf I'd run them in those as I am not breaking the pairs up. I've got Sony VTC4s, Samsung 25r, and several others that are used in my tube mods and other single battery mods. My HB6's only get used 1a with 1b, 2a with 2b, and 3a with 3b. Bought them all together, charge them in pairs together (1a in slot 1 and 2a in slot 3 or 1a slot 1, 2a in slot 2, 1b in slot 3, 2b in slot 3 of my Nitcore i4 battery charger, my Efest LUC4 charger, they get charged in slot 2 and 3 to keep their charging balanced, next recharge they go into the charger like 1b slot 1 and 1a in slot 3 on the Nitcore, and rotae their positions in your mod each time you use, 1a in slot 1, 1b in slot 2, next time in the mod, 1b in slot 1 and 1a in slot 2) these help keep the batteries balanced as much as possible. Married batteries become unbalanced, the stronger battery pulls more load to make up for the weaker battery, and they need the same amount of charge and discharge cycles, use one in another mod, disrupts this balance and leads to potential problems later.
