thanks for the advice. If you have anymore for me, I would like to hear them
A few more you may want to check out are ecigexpress,One stop diy shop, and Gremlin diy.I have used all of those as well.Osdiy sells several brands of flavors, and they also have their own flavors and blends that are very popular.

ok sweet thanks. for the nicotine, should i use PG base, VG base or a combo of the 2?
and have you tried the VG and PG from the one stop diy shop. if so how is it?
On the nicotine,i would either get all pg or all vg,as it would be easier to get the correct finished juice ratio you want, say 70vg/30pg,etc. since not all recipes use the same amount of flavors, the amounts of pg and vg will vary,so at least for me,a straight base just seems easier.I make all my juices 70vg,so i buy all my nic in vg,but it really comes down to personal preference as to which to get.
The Osdiy pg and vg i haven't tried, but i would say it should be fine.I've used a few different brands of them over the years, and i never noticed any difference in taste between any of them.I only started buying from Essential depot because the prices were better, but it has all tasted the same to me.

Okay, so I made up a 10ml sample bottle. This is the final recipe, after much deliberation:

Scentsy Marshmallow Mint Vape

CAP Butter Cream 4%
FW Candy Cane 3.5%
FA Caramel 0.5 %
TFA Cotton Candy (10% EM) 1%
CAP Sweet Cream 1%
TFA Sweetener 1%
TFA Toasted Marshmallow 9%
CAP French Vanilla 1%

Yeah, I know, it's not exactly as I originally envisioned but then none of my mixes are. I toned back the Candy Cane - I was afraid on the first try that 5% might be too much (for me, anyway). I added the Caramel so the Toasted Marshmallow would have someone to play with. I added in the Sweet Cream, because you know, cream is yummy. The French Vanilla is to enhance everything else, as vanilla is wont to do.

Taste test on my finger says this is gonna be good in 2 weeks, when everybody has had a chance to play together :) I won't vape it till then, 3 weeks would be better just because the toasted marshmallow will take that long to start tasting really good.

I'll report back - patience is a virtue when mixing e-liquid. :D
after 2 weeks, how does it taste?

It tastes like it needs another 2 weeks. :p
In fact, I can see just by looking at it that it's not ready.

The Marshmallow Mint is on the left - on the right is a fully aged fruit/cream mix. Probably hard to see the difference in the picture but I can tell the difference with just a glance. It's coming along, but not really ready.

And, I wasn't going to bother trying any today, but since you asked...

I did drip a very small amount in my dripper (with a fresh wick) and all I get is mint, a lot of sweet and a wee tiny amount of "buttery". Not much marshmallow yet, let alone toasted.

Needs more time.

I think this is going to take at least 10 more days.

Please bear in mind this is a starting point and this recipe could (and likely will) take several more tries before it becomes something that I'm happy with. I know many DIYers and most commercial juice makers spend months getting a recipe dialed in exactly as they envision it.

Lately, I've been wondering how many people try their hand at DIY then give up after a month or two because they are unable to develop an e-liquid they like to vape.

Some of the best advice you'll see is to start with simple recipes with flavors you know you already like. Mix your flavors individually when you first get them so you can learn what they taste like on their own before you start mixing them. And do as much reading ahead of time as you can before you even start! After you start mixing and have been at it a while, all that information will start to make sense.

@PapawBrett started a good thread here, still just a couple of days old but already full of tried-and-true recipes with simple ingredients: Recipes for Dummies

ok, thanks for the advice. i will keep that in mind. a coworker has been vaping a strawberry shortcake custard juice, and i was thinking of finding a similar recipe that has already been done to vape until i get that one down.

So it's just about a month since I made this up and I'm vaping some here in a tank tonight.

It's not a bad vape but not a great vape and not really close enough to Scentsy Marshmallow Mint at all. I have a new appreciation of the fact that Scentsy is able to use essential oils and concentrated distillates to make up their wax melts and we can't vape these products as they exist for fragrance purposes.

There are several Scentsy scents that I always thought would make great vapes:
Crazy Coconut, Honey Pear Cider, Jungle Jam, Oodles of Orange, Rum Raisin Cookie, Sparkling Black Plum - just to name a few. Trying to nail these down into a vape would be a long and complicated process.

So while I think this is a decent start to finding a happy vape - it's just a start and much tweaking would need to happen to get it exactly right.

Since I only made a 10ml bottle it'll be short work to vape this down. :)

I am going to work on version 2 but I need to go through the whole 10ml to work out my tweaks. Right off the bat I can tell you it isn't buttery enough so next time I'm going to sub out the Butter Cream in favor of Golden Butter (both Capella flavors). And I don't care much for FW's Candy Cane - think I'll use FA Peppermint next time instead at 0.5% Also, I think part of the marshmallow should be regular marshmallow combined with the toasted marshmallow. I'll use FA marshmallow for that too.

Ah, so many flavors out there. I wish I had about 400 at my disposal. :D

yeah, some of those scents would be a really good vape, i smelt that marshmallow mint and instantly thought that would be a really good vape i should be getting my stuff to start mixing soon. is there any flavors from the original recipe that i should substitute for another to make it a little bit closer?

You should probably get Peppermint as it would be a more versatile choice for mint. Whether you choose TFA, CAP or FA is up to you.

CAP Golden Butter would be a better choice than CAP Butter Cream.

TFA Marshmallow would also be a good buy as you can use this in all sorts of recipes.

These 3 flavors alone will give you a basic version of Marshmallow Mint. If you're ready to try your hand at something simple, these 3 flavors would be a good start.

And please remember - it's kind of hard to advise others on what flavors they should buy - taste is a very personal thing. What tastes good to me might not taste good to you. Since we all have to start somewhere, these are not bad choices IMHO.

Don't know if we lost the OP or what but I've finally got this recipe dialed in to where I like it. :thumb:

Marshmallow Mint
CAP Golden Butter 5%
TFA Marshmallow 5%
FA Mild Winter (Peppermint) 1%
TFA Toasted Marshmallow 2%
CAP Vanilla Custard v.1 5%

PG/VG: 35/65
Age: 3 weeks

Is it just like Scentsy Marshmallow Mint? No, not really because it's difficult to replicate the scent of essential oils with food flavors but it vapes nicely and I'm putting it into my regular rotation. :D

Glad I'm not the only one inspired by candles... Lol.
All this talk about Marshmallow mint... I may try my hand and it. I will report back if I have any success.
let me know what you come up with. i think if we have enough people trying this recipe, we should be able to come up with something that will at least be close

My butter mint recipe...

3% Capella Cool Mint
2% Flavour Art Whipped Cream
2% TFA Marshmallow
4% TFA Vanilla Swirl
2% TFA Butter
1 drop per 5mL TFA Sweetener

To me, this is a spot-on butter mint flavor. Just like the Brach's variety I used to pilfer from Grandma's secret stash.
