Matrix sub tank with Nickel coils

So I just got the nickel coils for this tank, but I'm having a hell of a time dialing it in. Anyone else have this setup? What settings have you found works? Also is 80vg juice too thick for temp control?

Matrix is the same as Smok VCT pro or TCT just different manufacturer.... I use my NI200s on my IPV4 from 35-50J and 410-450* the .2 Kanthal coils wick well to 75 watts or so .....must of my juice is 70-30 -80-20

Thanks Shane, I'm using the IPV4 as well. I'm finding 420-450f with 35-45 joules is pretty good. However with this atty it seems like above 45j and it will spit like crazy

Strange does the Matrix coils have the S.S. mesh on the top?
also are you using +&- buttons at the same time to set the resistance of the coils while at room temp? Just asking because must of the issues ive seen people having is when they dont know to set the resistance

Yeah it has the mesh on the top of the coil and originally I didn't set it, but when I realized it wasn't right did some googling and then set the resistance (1.7 ohm).

I just realized that the box of Ni-200 coils says 0.2 ohm, so I just tried to warm the coils slightly and then lock the resistance. So now it's locked to 0.2 let's see if this is any better...

1.7? Or .17? If its at 1.7 you need to let them cool to room temp should be .2ish then lock her down.....also make sure they are the TC coils and not the .2 Kanthal ones or your TC will not work. Good luck and I hope it works out for ya! I love my TCT their coils are .15ohm and have a green O'ring around the bottom so you can tell the difference between the NI200 and K1

Oops my bad, it's 0.17 ohms. I'm positive they're nickel, they have the green o-ring, and it has the min/max temp printed on the side of the coil.
After setting the resistance at 0.2 it seems to be MUCH better performance wise. Thick clouds, rich flavor, I'm loving it so far.
