Just wanted to say that I received my Maxi today and WOW what a vape with an 18650 and DC mega carto.

Going on my third year of vaping - I've tried just about every mod there is - this thing just works better and is very well made - my new favorite.

If you are thinking about getting one, don't think, do it. Well worth the price.

Glad you like yours, me too! I'm still looking for a way to put a soft/rubbery cap on the button, as mine's got a hard ridge that's a little sharp. That said, it hits like a hammer and fits the hand just right. Machined aluminum feels better than chrome or polished too.

There's RS users thread, kind of in it's infancy but I hope the large # of RS users will start adding their own ideas!

The funny thing is I have been using a Goldrush mod for the last year and have been very happy with it. I got this as a backup.

But with the same 18650 battery and same carto, the roughstack hits much stronger. i think that the goldrush mod has more resistance or something. Whatever it is, I already prefer the roughstack - it is also much much smaller, yet with the same 18650 batteries.

Incidentally, the absolute worst mod I ever owned was the Indulgence - what a cheap piece of you know what!

The tread is a great idea, but I fear the Roughstack is a different mod, with a far different fan base...:)

Futzy mod user: "here a picture of my collection with my cat"
RS user: "what grit emery cloth do you use to get scratches out?"

Futzy mod user: "OMG I dropped my <fill in the blank>, how long does it take to get serviced?"
RS user: "dropped my RS while mowing the lawn, ran over it, dang had to replace the carto..."

Futzy mod user: "did you see the new colors and graphics available?"
RS user: "I can't decide, tumbled or regular finish..."
RS user: "can you use tool handle dip coating on a RS"

Love my RS at 5v, best low cost mod and one of my first, not sure why I kept trying after buying one.
It always seems the best costs more, this is exception by far....

saraf3m,

I just ordered a 306DCA to try and get working with my Maxi RSV2 - are you saying it'll work just by removing the nut for the switch? That would make my day - as my RSV2 is my main weapon these days!

Getting back on track - the Roughstack is amazing. I've had several MOD's over the last couple years and after getting the Roughstack - I don't know why I'd need anything else.

Stosh - that is hilarious ........ and unfortunately, probably very true.

WOW is correct!

Hey guys,

I am considering getting the Maxi, what atty/carto combos do you suggest with it?

I put a post in the opinions forum asking people's thoughts, no answer over the past few hours; guess I should have come here first! lol

6 volts with the Madvapes dual coils, but be warned some juices don't play well with this combo and burn to a crisp. With the right juice though this is an EPIC combo.

Take the black mouthpiece from a e2 (or Ce2) and sandpaper or emeryboard the lip off the side of the cap (the part that keeps it from going into the carto all the way). Push this onto the button (it will go on about 2/3rd of the way). Voila!

Glad you like yours, me too! I'm still looking for a way to put a soft/rubbery cap on the button, as mine's got a hard ridge that's a little sharp. That said, it hits like a hammer and fits the hand just right. Machined aluminum feels better than chrome or polished too.

I like mine with an 18650 and 2.5 ohm cartos. Liquid doesn't burn but fantastic vapor!

Agreed! For the price this is a quality product. I'm using both the RSV2 and the Maxi interchangeably (18350 vs 18650). I took the nut off for the button to fit a DCA on and now I can use my LR306 with no worries of over dripping :) Now if those powder coated ones get made again...
Excuse my ignorance but if you remove the nut around the switch then what holds the switch in place ? I'm quite curious as I'm really on the verge on ordering a roughstack and I'm currently loving my 306 dca. Also with the nut removed how big a a carto/atty can you fit on there ? would there be enough room for a emdcc or one the multi XL dual coils ?

Beaverkt,

No ignorance - just a good question.

I've tried the RS with my 306DCA without the nut and the pressure from the battery keeps it in place quite nicely, but what I decided on was using a shorty 510 to 510 adapter with my DCA and it works great.

I can't comment on your other ?'s - since I don't have the emdcc (looks too big to me) or multi XL's to try. Let's just say - the DCA barely fits.

The Roughstack is incredible, though - and I wouldn't hesitate to order one. The Maxi with an 18650 lasts me a good long time ........ Of course - YMMV.
