Maxi RS V2 issues

I've tried all I can think of, and am now coming here to look for guidance.

Current set up:
Maxi RS V2
2x Ultrafire 16340 800mAh 3.0v (protected and green covered)
3.2 ohm Boge Carto.

It is really hit or miss lately. Was working solid there for a week, now it isn't doing anything. I am using fully charged batteries, and pushing the button will not get it to go, or will do a short "tssss" then nothing. I've swapped out other 16340's (like above mentioned), and still no dice.

Did I end up getting the wrong batteries? Is my carto shot?

Any hissing from the carto? Few things to try. Cleaning all threads with alcohol. You would be surprise how much clean contact with improve firing. Second, I would try to lift the center pin of the carto just a tad to ensure it was making contact with connector. Sometimes if you screw the carto down too tight over many times, it won't stick out far enough to make contact. Of course, you should check the carto with a multimeter if you have one. It could just be shot. You can find all these tricks on Youtube.

it would hiss for a second, but not anymore. I'm thinking it's the batteries.. or something. Any recommendations on doing 6v w/ the RS V2

The switch probably went out. It happened to my wife's maxi in three weeks. pretty easy to replace

Switch works fine actually. I think it's the batteries. As I placed a Trustfire 18650 in and it is working like a champ. I think the 16340's are my issue. Since i've gotten them, they've been a pain the rear. maybe because they are protected. No clue.
