yea i didnt understand before but i see now that the extender was ment for using these
devices without the cone and the existing extension only serves to make it long enough to clear the cone threads and it must be too long for that since everybody wants a shorter one. I was trying to use a
tank and the cone at the same time since i didn't want the threads exposed and i have a cord attached to my cone. for this setup I need a little longer extension.
For design purposes a 510 to 510 connector that is made the same way as the 808 to 510 connector would do the trick in my case. i am not sure that would be long enough for the maximizer though.
As a side note the center connector in the 808 adapter is threaded allowing you to adjust the height of the center connector. If the 510 adapter was made the same way then it could be adjusted up to work with some devices where the center pin does not stick out enough...
