Maximum Vapors Woodie Max

I just received a new Woodie Max. The unit is poorly constructed. The door is hinged but there are no magnets so it rattles and springs open constantly. Those things I can live with. What I find absolutely abominable is the incredibly poor job on the finish. MV took a beautiful piece of Paduak, didn't fill the grain, didn't sand it properly and just sprayed it down with some sort of polyurethane. Subsequenly, this thing is full of drips, sags, runs, aligatoring and orange peel.

My recommendation is stay away if you're a wood lover. This finish is shameful. I wish I had kept it long enough to take pictures, but quite frankly, I opened the box, took one look at the finish, determined it was a piece of crap and threw it out the back door and into the woods behind my house, thats how disgusted I was.

U bought this woodie from Todd at MV? Wow I am shocked! I have a Crazy Weird VV woodie from him and I have been very happy with it! One of the things that struck me most was his attention to detail and the wood! Mine is gorgeous! The inside is clean as a whistle! But you are right they don't have magnets on the door, but mine has never ever came open, and I use it everyday!

I am very sorry you have had this experience, Todd has always been very picky about his mods and always been quick to answer any question or solve any problems. I really wish u would post some pics of it, or better yet contact Todd. If u are really this unhappy I know he would want to hear about it. Again so sorry this has happened, but it's not the experience I have ever had or heard of from this vendor.

Thanks for your input. I would like to think there are still honorable people in this world. Todd just replied that he sold the unit unfinished to the guy I traded for. I'm trying to get this confirmed. If it's true, I will drive to KC to personally apologize to Todd. I'm sorry if I'm being overly dramatic here but the unit I got, supposedly as New, has cathairs stuck to the finish. It's absolutely disgusting. So bad, I threw it out, I didn't want it around to remind me I had gotten ripped off so bad

O my!! Cat hair??? That can't be one from Todd! No way! I hope u guys can figure this out. If its not from Todd, I would def be raising hell with the person who sold it to u!

We did. Todd is innocent. I got a unit that was supposed to be finished by the buyer. It was a poor job and the lying thief blamed Todd. I wish to thank Todd for sticking by me via cc's as I disputed this with the lying thief. It was impossible for me to know the real truth until Todd went back and dug up old emails which in deed vindicated him.
Wow, what a night. Its been very agravating but I am pleased that my faith in humanity is restored. The innocent was protected and the lying thief was caught red handed. Thanks Todd
