Higher resistance takes more voltage. Going to the max isnt always best though. Could burn your juices.

What are you trying to do. Get more vapor or Throat hit. Watts are the concern. To low no vapor to high bunt juice and fried coils. Keep in mind that your juice feed system needs to be able to support the higher wattage otherwise you will get dry hits. Just increasing wattage will only get you burnt taste and a throat hit. Really hot coils (red hot) will get you chromium hits. Use the chart above.
You need to provide more info also. Kind of atomizer and your model of battery may make a difference. Top feed systems are slower than say a bottom feed or dripper.

There's no reason to max out your voltage. The point to higher voltage is to get the coil hot. All increasing your resistance is going to do is increase the voltage you need to get to the same temp. Whatever carto you're using start low and turn it up until you like the taste. If it tastes burnt, turn it back down. The point of VV is just that you can adjust for whatever resistance your coil is. If that 1.8 dies and somebody gives you a 2.5 you can still get the same performance by turning the voltage up. If they give you a 1.5 you can turn it down.

I dont even charge my provari batteries overnight. It may be safe. But I wouldnt trust my kids life by doing overnight. You can also get charging bags. Its kind of like a sleeve thats meant to go around your battery and charger. It will help protect the surrounding areas in case of a fire.

I have a similar set up to yours. I have a basic battery similar to your smoov rev its just a twist battery with 1000mah (i think its mah) (and i think mah means how long itll last til you need to charge it). I think your question is about ohms and coils. You're using a mini protank which uses a coil which can be easily rebuilt or you can buy them. I rebuild my kanger protank coils its easy once you get the hang of it. OKAY the main point of my post is with a protank coil at an ohm range between 2.2 to 2.8 I usually use voltage in between 3.4 to 3.6 (a little higher to play with it). The protank can get a burnt taste if you put the voltage higher than 4.0, also because you're not using a battery with wattage modification.
You have a simple set up so with coils at 2.5 range use 3.6 voltage.
Theres a good post on this forum on how to rebuild protank coils or just google it. When rebuilding its always best to use a mod than can check your ohms before putting it on your twist battery. Also, it takes practice but make sure non of your coils are touching.
I've been using and rebuilding protank coils for 4+ months only downside is certain "fruity" juices get a burnt taste even at normal settings.

Well, the real reason to rebuild the head yourself is not so much saving the $1.50, but to save you $10 in gas and the travel time.

As for the rest, 8 watts is a comfortable vape for most heads and juices. Give or take a watt. Get comfortable with Ohm's Law. For 8W and 1.8, 2.2, and 2.6 ohms, the answers are 3.8, 4.2, and 4.8V respectively. For the "give or take a watt" and 1.8 ohms, try 3.5, 3.8, and 4.0V for 7, 8, and 9W respectively.

You shouldn't be getting dry hits with your Pro Tank at such low power.

That kinda depends on the juice and the experience of the person.

When I first got my Vamo (first vv device) I stuck a protank on it with pech juice. Everyone was telling me you need 7-8 watts. 7-8 watts was awful my newbie self interpreted it as a dry hit. It was NOT a dry hit it was burnt juice. SOME flavors just do not do well on SOME devices much over 6 watts.

Not exactly ... a wide voltage range increases your coil configuration options. All things being equal a higher resistance coil will be larger overall than a lower resistance coil.

This is it exactly. mah=Mili-Amp-Hours. so it effects how long the battery takes to charge and how long that charge will last.

myrany, if the juice is "burning", the wick isn't feeding fast enough. Power relates to how much vapor is produced. More power produces more heat. More heat vaporizes more juice. It doesn't burn the vapor. It dries the wick if the wick doesn't keep up. Hence, your burnt juice is really a dry wick. Heavy VG wicks more slowly. That might the case if your Pro Tank is only giving you 6W of good vape.
