Hi guys,

I have about a hundred twisted coils to build for a vape meeting coming soon. I´m used to building my RTA/rda and then testing the resistance using one of those 510 resistance testers, but as you can imagine I don't really feel like building/unbuilding my rda a hundred times.

I would like to know if there´s a quick way to test the resistance of these bad boys without actually building a setup.

Best bet is to make the Kanthal the exact same length for each coil unless you wanna use a multimeter with alligator clip leads and test every single one .

I do. Atleast, I want to measure at least 5 coils of each resistance I'm making to ensure I get a decent avarage resistance. Would have to buy a multimeter for this, but that's not a biggie. Anything in particular I need on this MM, or would any MM do?

hmmm I would make the all coils with the same number of wraps ( make and test one first to determine the number of wraps needed) but leave about 2" legs on them and then take one of the coils and test it to find the resistance and then cut all the legs to the same length to the expected ohms required

unless you are planning on different ohms for several batches....

A digital multimeter for starters , you'd need alligator clip leads and you'd have to figure out the internal resistance of your leads and the meter itself and subtract them from your readings , alot of multimeters don't do a good job with the resistance levels we work with , best bet is check out some of the Mastech multimeters on Amazon for something reasonably priced and accurate .
