I just had a very scary incident happen with my mod.

I am using a Prism mod with a High Drain Sony 30 amp battery and have been using this set up for months now with no issues whatsoever. Every couple of weeks I like to clean the contacts and apply some Noalax to the contacts.

Today I did the same thing that I usually do and everything seemed fine. I had my mod sitting on my desk with the button locked so the switch couldn't fire. I had not used it in about 30 min that it was sitting there. When I picked up the mod, is was scalding hot and burned my hand a little. I frantically used a cloth to unscrew the bottom and remove the battery. Every part of the mod and the battery were scorching hot even after 10 min of being taken apart. I know the mod was not firing because the rda did not burn at all. I was in the same room with the mod during this and would have smelled the coil if it was firing.

I am wondering if I may have put to much Noalox and it caused some sort of an arc or something even if the button was not being pressed. I would love to here what some of the over vets out there have to say about this. Thank you in advance everyone.

An internal short to ground... or a battery failure. Have you checked, recharged and re-checked the battery with a DMM? Do no use the mech until... you've located a short, or determined pass/fail for the battery.
