mech mod vent holes ?

Do any of you drill out vent holes in your mechanical mods ? I have one in my Chi You clone but thinking about putting another one in ?

I just saw a video of some cat that went into the mall with his mod and cheap battery and it went sideways on him. I take all the precautions that I can but only reduces the risk it don't remove them, right ?

It is better to have somewhere for the pressure to go when a battery fails than to have it build up pressure in a pipe bomb. Vent holes are a good idea.

Most mods have them anyway so i'm not sure you need to drill your own. I have seen only one prototype for a mod that had none at all and that was remedied at production.

All devices ought to have them and most do, some are just not obvious, hidden under buttons etc.

Yeah I'm not sure why you would need to drill one out.. almost all mods already have one and just a simple hole will do the job

I have not done it yet, but I think some of the battery venting designs out there are not the best and could probably use a little help. Specially the ones that don't have venting at the top end where the 510 connection is.

It does have a vent hole under the switch. I was just wondering if that was enough ?

Seeing that video (china battery meltdown in my kts+ mod with 2.2 ohm iclear30) and him saying it shot across the room just had me thinking, lol
