Safest way to use a mech and build coils, is to know your vape chit first. Have a thorough understanding of Ohm's law, know the amp capabilities of your batts, and be able to build coils consistently and competently.

Yes, must look at the amp requirements of your build, making sure the batt has enough amps to supply the demand, and when a short happens, things get hot, really fast, like the switch, mod, batt, time to disassemble quickly, lay the batt out on the dirt and get back Jack, or something like that.

Building and mechs are not for the entry level vaper, seriously. Before one can build low at a competent level, one should learn to build at over one ohm first, like 1.5-2 ohms. Once one can consistently hit the target ohms, and have a competent coil that is wicked correctly, then one is ready to cross rice paper with out leaving a trace, or something like that:D:confused:

Totally agreed...for a beginner lol, I myself have been building for two years now and when I got my Godmod 180 I um....it took me a little while to remember how to build above a .5 ohm and I barely made it....two reasons why though, I have been on mechs for so long and sub ohming that all of my wire is now nichrome80...not kanthal...and the thinnest gauge I have in my personal supply is 24gauge so yeah it was not easy for me. I hit a .54 and it was a 19 wrap dual coil nightmare that took super long to get right and barely fit inside the doge rda I was building it on lol (although now those monstrous 11mm wide airholes serve a purpose though) But back to batteries...if you are planning on doing anything crazy you HAVE to have good batts or you may as well just say goodbye to your face now....The batts I have been using as of now are (and some will disagree but I have personally used and tested all of these with no issues, just remember your amp limits)...

VTC line (of course but they are no longer made in Japan, are overpriced if you find legit ones and are not even made by sony anymore so I just stay away now)
yellow MXJO 35 amp
purple efest 35 amp
LG HE2 (alot of people are saying these three batts are all the same but until I see some side by side graphs that all match exactly I am on the fence on this one)
LG HE4
Samsung 25r

So yeah, depending on where you get any of these they should all be under ten bucks a piece, besides the VTC which are just way too overpriced now IMO
