Welcome Meatwad!

For people looking to step up from mechanical mods I always recommend The Natural by SmokTech.
Price, Build Quality and Ease of use! If your looking to throw an rba into the mix an RSST will go great with your purchase!
You can get both for around $80 total. you wouldn't even scratch the surface with that price with some of the mechs.

variable voltage or wattage and regulated devices have amp limits. Mechanicals have no wiring or circuitry letting you use as much amperage as your battery allows. They also are sexy

ok thanks. But with batteries like the Vamo V3or Lava Tube (which also looks sexy) don't you also get VV and or VW?
Or is it more for the PRO vaper who has a rebuildable atty etc?

I agree with all but longer battery life.

On a provari i get a full day off a 18650 battery

On a mech it depends of the resistance of coil, if you go low ohms (1 to 1.2) or super low ohms (.5 to .9) the battery will discharge a lot more per press

I change. A 18650 batt after half a day of use on a mech with SLR coils

By the time batt goes from 4.15 to 3.7 / 3.6 volts performance REALLY decreases and become quiete weak

Agreed but that depends on the coil if I run at 1.2 for example on a zmax telescope with a 18350 my batteries will last about 4 hours but if I use the same coil and battery in my mech I will almost get a full day :)

K100s are a good mech to start. Cheap, telescoping, built like a tank, good switch. $50 won't really get you into the higher end stuff. You should go watch some video reviews of different mechs to see which one might be for you. If you don't mind fiddling with em, you can get highly decent performance out of some dirt cheap mechs. A couple you should check out are: K100, KTS, Sigelei #8 #13 #19 #20, Smok Natural and Magneto just to name a few. All of these are under $50. You could probably pick up 2 of these for under $50 if you shop around. Hope this is helpful.

for $50, the best one you can buy is the EH Pro EA Clone:
EHPRO EA CLONE [EHPROEA] - $53.99 : Buckys Bargain Vaping, Discount Vaping Supplies

don't have one, but all reviews are raving about its performance:
Review: The EHPro EA Mod Clone - Vape Squad

Beats mods 4x its price in voltage drop!

These are hard to find at the moment but i believe there is a Co-op going on right now

There's also the silly cheap v3 in brass from fasttech its the hardest hitting mod I have tried hands down you will not get a better performer for the same price. The brass one is well built but I did refinish mine as there was minor marks on it. Too me personally its far better then the other budget mod I would recommend the k100 :)

It's an excellent mod but it does need a bit (not much) tinkering for best performance:

I vote for the EA Clone. It has all the battery options, and reviews are saying it has the least voltage drop of anything in it's price range (around $50), and better than some high end mods. If I were just getting into mechs I think it would be the one I'd choose; I can't give first hand comments, I'm waiting for one to come in the vapemail, but I'm very excited about it! I'd also recommend staying away from sigelei mechanical mods. They're cheap, but you definately get what you pay for, because they all need work to get them working right, and even then they still don't perform well, usually.

Thank you, and as I understand it the bolt is indeed a very basic mod but not in fact a true mech mod because it has soldered connections, and wires. It performs very well since I upped the wire gauge and got the extender for an 18650. I was thinking true mech like a gg or something. I will definitely check out the suggestions from tiknu. :)

Steam Turbine is correct on the GG "Out of Stock" if over $50 you could get the 'Nzonic v3 by Madz Modz' at Mountain Oak Vapors...
Madz Modz Nzonic V3 available at Mountain Oak Vapors!
Cheers!

I just got one of these on sale with batteries one 650 and one 350, case, a cheap RBA and a charger for $50 LOVE IT! Can't put it down I've ditched my other mods for it as of late.

Just got magneto 1939 no logo, an hour ago. I'm loving it. Works with every thing I put on it. I will keep lookout for adjustable pin and grab one when they come out. Just very solid feeling and great hits from my tanks and clearos with it. Best $40.00 I have spent on ecig purchase. I'm not a cloud chaser but it performs very well from 1.8 to 2.4 ohms. It has that look that everyone wants to check out.

 Good luck with that!

Get ready to read these words:

OUT OF STOCK

Welcome to Clouds Of Vapor has a pre-order for the new Imeo mod JUST GG. Pre-order ends 8/20/13 so i suggest you go there right now and put in your order.

For the op, I have a GGTS by Imeo and it is one hell of a mod. I wasn't too enthused by the Caravela because it's not telescopic and you have to have separate tubes for whatever battery you decide to use. The Poldiac (aside from not being aesthetically pleasing for my tastes) appears to be one doozy of a mod if you decide (which you should) to clean it inside and out once in a while. Whichever you choose to decide, as long as you are satisfied with it then what anyone else says doesn't really matter. Just continue on with your research and pick what's best for you.

Hi
Sorry for the hi-jack.... but can I ask a noob question please?
What is the benefit of a mech?

If I slip on a banana and my fully mechanical mod goes flying and lands in a bucket of water, it will still work after i dry and clean everything (probably might want to change the battery but you know what i mean). I'm not sure an electrical mod like a vamo could survive something like that. Suppose you're out camping, having a great time, then for some reason the circuits fry on an electrical mod...first of all, no more happy camping for you, and second, you'll probably have to buy a new mod. These are extreme examples but stupid things do happen in life once in a while.
