48 hrs and counting...

Honestly...I "feel" better and I can actually smell stuff better

Got our madvapes e-juice in...I got the 18mg tobacco, she is gonna try the 11mg...

I have found that after heavy vaping the tank (I think its a carto but has short wicks) I have started getting a burnt taste to it...when I went back to the atomizer it tasted good...I think I might have just run it too hard and heated things up a bit too much.

Congrats to everyone here. I've been lurking here for a while but finally signed up today. The first 3 days were the hardest for me. I tried to get into electronic cigs back in 2006 but the one I bought just didn't do it for me. Apr of this year I bought an Eroll and quit cigs on the spot. I had a new pack of cigs for 2 month and then gave them to one of my friends who still smokes. Smoker for 20 years, sometimes a pack a day sometimes up to 3, it was really effecting the things I like to do. I've been 4 months cig free and now I can mountain bike better, run better and TASTE my food!! Keep at it and the cigs will seem like a distant memory. I really feel that the hobby side of vaping help too, not for everyone I know, but I love modifying anything I can and that has really helped me to fall in love with vaping.

Awhuch, keep taking those steps!! Find a b/m store that has a huge selection of ejuice and try as many as you can until you find a flavor that you can't live without. It makes it easier to pass up the cigs when the vape tastes far better. I had trouble finding a juice I liked at first because I though of vaping as a way to quit, not as a new hobby. Or....take off in a full sprint from your house and make a mental note of how far you made it, then try as hard as you can to go just 3 days without a cig and sprint off again and make note of the difference. It may be small but you will go farther :)
Yeah..it's getting easier and easier to "block the urge" whenever I get one..I just take a heavy drag and it usually passes within a few minutes!

There aren't any stores close by, I have to order online..I did get a 30ml bottle of juice (standard 18mg tobacco) from madvapes...next payday I am gonna order a few 10ml bottles of frufru flavors, strawberry, cherry, vanilla then either try them individually or maybe make my own strawberry/vanilla or cherry/vanilla flavors...

I am a tinkerer too..that's why I gutted those two slim line e-cigs that failed on me...warranty or not I wanted to see what was in em...the batteries ain't bad, its the "auto" sensor that won't work, I could put a manual button on it probably and see if they would work.

Thanks fro all the replies

Gonna give these a whirl and see if I can vape with a portable power battery pack

I'm thinking of pulling the orangy plastic stuff off and hitting it with a few coats of clear nail polish as a conformal coating

I can already run the USB bypass portable vape rig on my home and work computer port and in my truck while commuting to work with a cigarette lighter USB power adapter, I end up using this thing MORE than my battery powered ones that I paid 5x-10x as much!!!

USB bypass

Congrats and thanks for sharing! Part of what keeps me motivated, aside from the fact that analogs now taste disgusting to me, is reading stories like this (and all those that have posted in this thread) . I'm a long way from converting the smokers in my life, mainly because of distance, but I just don't think enough people realize that there's a real, effective alternative out there. Stick with it because it works! PS, as someone who loves the tobacco liquids, I'm also starting to see the fun of the other flavors out there - got some pumpkin pie, french toast, and cinnamon bun steeping right now :)
