What would be some decent mech mods to get started with for someone that has not messed with them before?

Not looking to break the bank but would like to get something that will not breakdown in a short period of time something of good quality if you know what I mean

I have an enzonic clone (EHPRO) that I really like personally but a LOT of people like the K100

I got the enzonic because it will allow a kick and an 18650 battery. I prefer regulated vaping as it is much more consistent than regular mech vaping where the power starts to fade as soon as the battery voltage starts dropping.

Make sure you get the best batteries with any mech you get. Batteries are not where you want to cut corners. Also make sure you get at least 4 if you are going to get into lower ohm builds and change them out regularly through out the day and check them with a multimeter to make sure you are not overdischarging them.

I would recommend a K100 or my personal favorite, the Nemesis Clone!

Nemesis clone with magnet kit. I hear the HCigar one is really good. I have a FT one and it's really good for a clone.

A K100 or K101 would be a good, inexpensive start into mech mods. Clones are also a good idea. I started with a Private V2 clone. It cost me $40, so if I didn't like mechs I wasn't out too much cash.

I agree with the Nemesis Clone. Got a great one from fast tech. Has a kick ring, looks and performs identical to the original and you can grab one for the mid $20 range. Just get good safe batteries.

I have a k100 & a private v2. My first two mechs.
I far prefer the v2 when driving. With 18350 small, good grip, smooth fire button, & better aesthetics..

Not to go off topic from the OP, but what are the advantages of mech mods? I of course watch all the Grimm Green videos, and the mods looks awesome, but I can't tell what makes a good one or not.

Determining whether it is a good mech or not, you need to look at what the materials of the contacts and tubes are and then look at what the voltage drop is.

clones seem to be the way to go, but definitely stick with quality over price, in my opinion. the happier you are with your mod, the less you will want/need to spend on something later.

If you can find a Magneto for $35 (+-) a few dollars I would go with it, I had a Nemesis clone with magnets and the button was wonky (didn't want to stand up straight) and a bit crunchy. I have the v2 Magneto with adjustable 510 connection and no spider logo on the button, has a 0.2 voltage drop with good machining and fit/finish.

Really the biggest thing to think about is telescopic or not, is it 18650 kickable (if that's important to you), and finally side or bottom button.

Voltage drop is important because it lets you know starting and resting voltages, knowing this allows you to build your coils at an ohm rating that compensates for the drop....All mechs can hit hard if the coil is built properly.
