no battery ordered yet but i think im going with the either the sony us18650vtc4 or the efest 30A highdrain 18650. i know the latter is safer chemistry so i may go with that. what do you think?

I have yet to see any official specs for the us18650vtc4 which explains its chemistry, but I would bet on it being a "safe chemistry" hybrid of some kind. I did find one Sony datasheet which shows it has been tested up to 30 amps.

This link is not mine, but I have downloaded the file to my phone without issue.

Quite honestly, that 1.4 ohm coil should give you very nice performance. I have a 1.5 ohm microcoil in my Scar right now, and it's performing wonderfully. I'm guessing that drill bit is somewhere around 1.5mm - 1/16" - because you're about 0.1 ohms off from what I'm getting with 1/16" 11-wrap 28g microcoil.

Hot springs (to me) are like air bags. Good to have, but you don't want to have to rely on them, so being a safer driver (or safer vaper) is better than heating a spring to the point of failure. And yes, they're kinda like that last-ditch "you really screwed up" safety interlock.

Kicks? I have a "real" Kick2 (15 watt limit) and two Chinese knock-offs (12 watt limit). They're nice in that with the right topper, they give you the performance and consistency of a regulated mod on a mech - but they do have their limits.

cool to know, yeah this coil i have now is very nice i love it. i just wanna make sure i dont reach my lower limit with my Zmax when i eventually want to wrap a lower ohms and play around.

yeah thats how i look at the kick as of now, i may get one just as a backup to the backup of me gaining knowledge
