Mechanical and RBA noob with one question.

Story time first; skip to the second paragraph for the question. I paid a visit to my local vape shop the other day with the intention of buying an Innokin 134 Mini. It was not meant to be though as the guy on staff that day talked me into a mechanical mod and an RBA. It has been something I was unsure of in the past, but I have always been envious of those giant clouds I see on YouTube. Smoking has always been a novelty for me. I got into e-cigs for the flavors and convenience; I have never been a cigarette smoker. I also own a hookah that is now collecting dust because I prefer the convenience of e-cigs. The one thing I missed about my hookah though is the CLOUDS. When this guy at the vape shop whipped out his mechanical, took a draw and proceeded to blow out a giant nimbus cloud, my eyes went wide and I said one thing: "Teach me." So he set me up with a pretty looking mechanical mod, an IGO-W3, some 30G kanthal wire, and told me to pick up some peaches and cream cotton from Walmart. I go to pick out an e-liquid, because I can never resist getting some when I am there. I picked out some Uncle Junk's Genius juice: Savannah. The guy asks me what strength I want it in and I request 18mg. The dude laughs and says "Oh no! You don't want that." And he suggests I go with 6mg or 0mg. I believed him, I mean the guy has sounded pretty knowledgeable up to this point. I picked up the 6mg. Which leads into my question:

Why does the vapor from my mechanical mod and RBA kick my ...!? I am riding a gnarly head buzz typing this up. I usually go with 18mg when I buy e-liquid, and I have never caught a nic buzz off that. At least not anything close to this. And for those of you who are perhaps familiar with Tangiers and the shisha tobacco they produce: I used to smoke that regularly out of my hookah. For those of you who are not familiar, Tangiers is known for making shisha that will knock a less seasoned hookah smoker on their .... Also made me cough more than once chasing after those giant clouds, which is less surprising because the vapor is noticeably warmer and harsher so I except more throat hit, but I didn't expect THAT much more of a throat hit. So who knows the scientific reason behind this, because the fact that the vapor is warmer doesn't explain to me why it is making my head feel warm and fuzzy. I might go with 0mg next time so I don't have to take as many breaks chasing those clouds.

the more vapor the device produces, the more nicotine you get per hit.
i use 6 MG per mL or less in my RDA with 18650 mech mod.

Most of the throat hit you experience is based on the nicotine content, also the PG content to some extent.

what is the PG / VG ratio of the e-liquid you are using?

did you get a rebuildable dripper?
or rebuildable tank?

The IGO-W3 is a 5 post dripper. I have a quad coil setup on there at about .5 ohms. The juice is 30/70 PG/VG. Your answer seems sensible but it begs the question, why don't I get this buzz when I chain vape 18mg/ml out of my clearos? I mean it may be less volume per hit, but it is a comparable volume over all given that I take many more hits in a row.

Oh and for a little more reference. I am using it on the lowest airflow setting and taking long slow pulls. I tried it on the biggest airflow setting and I am pretty sure someone sucker punched me in the chest while I wasn't looking.

Clearomizers are rather inefficient.
the best estimates right now is that %50 of the nicotine in the e-liquid will make its way out of the e-cig and into your mouth and that is with an efficient device. most of the nicotine is going to be absorbed by your mouth and throat and a little bit from the lungs.
ok so you got a rebuildable dripping atomizer or RDA. just from my own experiences, they are rather efficient at producing usable nicotine.
with an RDA your getting more nicotine into your system faster than a clearo, this is what your body is feeling.
some of it is psychological, that feeling you get when using a clearomizer, that you have to really work at it for a long time to get a decent buzz is kind of annoying and this just makes you crave more.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I am already noticing that I am starting to build a tolerance to it. I will probably still get it for a while at the start of my vape sessions. Thanks for the replies. I really was curious about it rather than concerned. I also wanted to share the story of me buying my first mech mod. Which after only a few hours of getting to use it (my first couple of builds were rather unsuccessful) I am loving it. Sadly, I cannot tell you what mod it is. The receipt says it is a King Clone, but upon a Google search I discovered that is not my mod. I rather like the look, and it was only $60 for 3 different sized tubes. The threads seem very smooth so I am very happy with it.
