I do want to sub ohm i have a helios clone and i want to produce clouds right now even with an innokin itaste vv it jus doesn't taste right do u think that sub ohming is the way to go for those effects? and that chart was helpful i jus don't understand what will happen if your ohms are too low for the battery will it explode or jus go bad?
As others have said, its NOT WISE to jump into sub-ohms rebuilding without prior experience with rebuilding normal resistance coils first. Things can go wrong extremely fast if you don't know what you are doing. Asking here for information is a good thing, and might well save you from harm.
There is a ton of basic information to be learned in this sub-forum:
Batteries, Chargers and Multi-Meters Forum ! Every link has some important information for you to learn and be safe. Grab a drink and some popcorn, there's A LOT to learn and you're gonna be here a while.
So, you don't understand what will happen if your ohms are too low for the battery. Will it explode or just go bad? It could be either explode or go bad. A sub-ohm coil which pulls more amps than a battery has can cause a dead short leading to thermal runaway. Battery meltdown. The battery becomes super hot within seconds, building up high pressure gas within the battery. It may cause the battery to swell in size and explode (see pic below). Your mechanical mod has vent holes to release the hot gas, but if the battery swells enough it can block off the vent holes - literally turning your metal tube mod into a pipe bomb. The key is to do all that you can to prevent this scenario from happening.
Please do take the time to do the proper research and learn how to do this safely. Your new mechanical mod has no built-in safety features like your regulated iTaste has and which kept you out of trouble. Your safety now depends upon you applying safe mod and battery practices.
The correct batteries for the application is a must. However, no battery is absolutely safe if it is hard shorted, whether it is a Sony 30 amp battery or not.
