Welcome to ECF P-Man...

AW IMR and Efest IMR batteries would be my 1st and 2nd choices. You'll want 18XXX series batteries, 18350, 490, 500 and 650 are the "lengths" in mm, while the 18 is the diameter in mm. '0' is for "round". ;-)
RTD Vapor and Lighthound are where you get genuine AW and Efest batteries... I can't vouch for anyone else.

Which battery? Well, that depends on resistance. See the chart below. Select the battery appropriate for the resistance, and visa versa.

Lots of chargers. For value, the Nitecore Intellicharger is a good way to go.

I do want to sub ohm i have a helios clone and i want to produce clouds right now even with an innokin itaste vv it jus doesn't taste right do u think that sub ohming is the way to go for those effects? and that chart was helpful i jus don't understand what will happen if your ohms are too low for the battery will it explode or jus go bad?

Its time to sit down, slow down and do more reasearching on sub ohm vaping man. If you dont even know what can happen when amp limits are pushed and things go bad you honestly have no business even playing with it. There is no safety net in pure mech vaping like there is with regulated mods. Nothing there except YOUR knowledge to keep you from hurting yourself or others. And from what ive read your lack of knowledge could prove to be dangerous. Not trying to sound like a jerk but its true man. Honestly you can produce good clouds without going subohm. Airflow and wicking are keys to this puzzle. A .4 ohm coils is useless without the other pieces and will make no bigger cloud than a ego with a protank.

This guy is right but when you know what you are doing with ohms law you can make some amazing clouds but if you don't know what you are doing you ARE going to hurt yourself no if you will but when you do understand ohms law you can make some monster builds

On amdroid and ios there is ohm's law apps that help with under standing your amp demand. On android I have an app called vapers toolbox that helps with building coils you type in the gauge, the type of coil, and your desired resistance. The app will then twll you how long to cut the wire and how many coils to wrap plus the diameter of the coils.

Gotta agree. VTC4/5 for the battery (unless you want a 18350, in which case AW). It also depends on what build oyure going ot use on your mech. If oyu plan on just throwing a Protank 2 on it, then by all means you should be ok. If you plan on sub ohming, VTC4/5 is a must.

As far as the charger goes, I never used a Nitecore, but I love my Efest LUC ^^

As others have said, its NOT WISE to jump into sub-ohms rebuilding without prior experience with rebuilding normal resistance coils first. Things can go wrong extremely fast if you don't know what you are doing. Asking here for information is a good thing, and might well save you from harm.

There is a ton of basic information to be learned in this sub-forum: Batteries, Chargers and Multi-Meters Forum ! Every link has some important information for you to learn and be safe. Grab a drink and some popcorn, there's A LOT to learn and you're gonna be here a while. :pop:

So, you don't understand what will happen if your ohms are too low for the battery. Will it explode or just go bad? It could be either explode or go bad. A sub-ohm coil which pulls more amps than a battery has can cause a dead short leading to thermal runaway. Battery meltdown. The battery becomes super hot within seconds, building up high pressure gas within the battery. It may cause the battery to swell in size and explode (see pic below). Your mechanical mod has vent holes to release the hot gas, but if the battery swells enough it can block off the vent holes - literally turning your metal tube mod into a pipe bomb. The key is to do all that you can to prevent this scenario from happening.

Please do take the time to do the proper research and learn how to do this safely. Your new mechanical mod has no built-in safety features like your regulated iTaste has and which kept you out of trouble. Your safety now depends upon you applying safe mod and battery practices.

The correct batteries for the application is a must. However, no battery is absolutely safe if it is hard shorted, whether it is a Sony 30 amp battery or not.

lol prob right I know I need to learn more I go up the vape lounge like couple times a week and I am starting to find out that there is a lot to learn but im still getting a mechanical mod. I bought a battery from the shop just to have one when my m16 arrives, so I ended up grabbing an efest 18650 1600maH. I am well aware that I can not sub ohm on that battery but it will work for now lowest will probably go is 1.2 ohm.

also sorry for taking long to respond it kinda hard a got rid of my smart phone and only get on my laptop once a day I appreciate the help.

ya sony vtc 4 have 30 amp limit. nitecore or efest charger. and i too have a helios clone and sub ohm coil at .4 ohms. understanding your batterys amp limit along with the ohms you build your coils at (get an ohm meter) and ya there are apps for ohms law that help ensure safety when you want to go for the clouds and build sub ohm coils.
