I have been reading a lot about mechanical mods and some of them look amazing. I don't think I know enough about them to purchase something for my skill level, so I figured I would reach out here to see what everyone else recommends.

Also, can these be used with the rechargable batteries I already have? I have 18650 and 18350 AW IMR botton tops. Will they work with Kanger PT2's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

they will work but the better question is will these both work on the same mod as they are kind of not directly related.

I cannot help with the actual "which one should I get". but if the mod is made well. clone or not, they all do the same thing and work identical. you put the battery in, screw the device on and press the button. so if you can use one you can use most, regardless of "skill level" so the best thing is to poke around here and see which ones interest you and read the posts to see if they are working well OR find ones you like and ask about them directly to see if anyone knows of problems. many posts with pictures, tips, tricks and problems for just about every mod.

one thing to consider and research is delivery devices, you are using a battery that is unregulated (unless you use a kick), from the first press the battery is constantly dying and a higher resistance will not give a satisfactory vape for very long once the battery dies off a little.

much enjoyment can be had from a mech, but for most users best results come from tuning the device to the mod, either wrapping better, lower resistance heads or using low resistance coils in an rba or kicking it.

just something to keep in mind so you dont end up disappointed and thinking these peeps are nuts it works great for 15 minutes then sucks..

Thrasher's comments are on the money (I seem to be following you a lot lately T... que?) so, read his post again and avoid knee jerk reactions. Mechs, used successfully... require a degree of "dedication" and time investment.

The fact that you want things to work with a box stock glassomizer is an indicator, at least to me, that perhaps you'd be better served with a nice, reliable VV-VW mod, like a iTaste SVD or MVP2, or perhaps one of the Sigelei or Vamo units in the sub $60 range.
If you can't be talked out of a mech for now, until you graduate to more user tunable attys, consider a mech and the previously mentioned kick - to regulate wattage. When you get involved in mechs, you also need a DMM (if you don't have one already), and you need to learn how to use it... especially when you start to build your own coils. Safety is a major, and often disregarded concern... but one that I try to not take lightly. ;-)

Bear in mind, what people are talking about now, are mechs that were out 1-3 months ago. The landscape of budget mechanical mods changes fast... sometimes overnight. Being an official "budget mod" guy... I try and keep ahead of what's happening rather than behind.
I can recommend bottom and side button mechs in the $30 (I stay away from mechs that are priced the same as a meal for 2 at McDonalds) to $80 range, all good or even great for the price, some came out a long time ago and there's simply nothing better in the price range - and some came out last week, and although made by reputable companies, are an unknown.

I hooked up my mech to a Kanger PT2 and Kanger Unitank (just to see the quality of the vape) and they both vaped fine at first, however it took a turn for the worse as the battery charge started to fall. .8-.9 OHM RBA is a MUCH better vape with the mech mod. But when you go that route you will have to learn how to wrap a coil and buy/use a multi-meter.

I keep my mech for home use and take my ZMax with a PT2 with me to work.
