Ive been using a VV and VW device for a while now. Specifically the Vamo V3, and I am quite enjoying it. I do want to expand my horizons a bit, but I am kind of worried about trying out a mechanical. Everywhere I look, I read about how dangerous batteries can become if used improperly and I would like to know why some choose a mechanical over a VV/VW device. Is it worth the risk of potentially blowing some fingers off? And what are the chances of that actually happening? Have there been any documented cases of a mechanical user becoming injured due to improper battery usage? And just out of curiosity, why do some people vape sub-ohm coils? Ive read it can be very dangerous, so why do some take a risk like that? Thanks!

Yeah, one of the most dangerous things to do is to trust that the device will take care of all the safeties

I am being very careful with my device, knowing that it is not 100% safe, which is why I would like to know the benefits of using a mech. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

They are more durable, easy to fix, simple and give options many of the VV/VW mods don't have.
Most can easily be fixed buy anyone that is halfway handy as there is little to go wrong with them. I enjoy using them, back when it wasn't so easy! With rebuldable's you can now build a coil to any resistance you want without having to hope a vendor has what you want/need in stock.

One can drill large vent holes in a tube mod to for added protection should batt vent.
One can pick a "safe" chemistry batt for mech mod that worst case will hopefully hiss instead of firecracker pop.
One can select a tube material that is less likely to produce unhealthy shrapnel.
One can choose to use a coin fuse or hot spring for hard short protection.
One can collect several tube mods which operate at the same voltage and mix and match toppers at will.
One can obtain quality vapor or massive clouds w/ tube mod.

There are many PVs that produce a satisfactory vape. I like tube mods so that's what I'm using.

MECHANICAL MOD PRO'S:

  • Most are more durably built than most regulated mods; no electronic parts to fail.
  • Ability to do sub-ohm coil builds.

MECHANICAL MOD CON'S:

  • No built-in protective circuitry (ie over-discharge protection, auto-cutoff protection, reverse battery protection, short circuit protection, thermal protection.)
  • Unless regulated with a Kick, the vaping experience will gradually decline as the battery voltage drops during use.
  • No LED display, no built-in ohm meter, no built-in voltage meter.

Mechs are great because of their size and you can regulate them/boost them with kick module if you dont do much subohming. At the end all you really need is a good, satisfying vape!

I like nemesis with kick-12W + kayfun at 1.5ohm and origin + aqua at 0.7ohm and i get almost 23W on full 18500 efest battery. :vapor:

Important:

1. Use only IMR batteries, at least 6 Amps safe current flow for 0.6ohm coil builds.Lower the resistance, higher the current, and you can damage the battery and hurt yourself. Efest red v2 are 6 Amps for 18350 and higher for bigger sizes

2. Always check the resistance with ohm meter/multimeter before vaping
