Mechanical mods when the "spring is too soft to hold the resistance"

I've seen this written a few times, one guy said his mod was melting batteries because the "spring was too soft to hold the resistance". What does this mean? How does it work?
I just ordered a bottom button mechanical and apparently the button is very easy to press because the spring is quite soft, this was one of the reasons I got it, because I have small hands and have some trouble with stiff bottom buttons, this mod fires if unlocked standing up, which I am not bothered about, I will just lock it before setting it down, but can a spring be too soft/ should I think about changing it? I will be vaping at around 1.5 ohms.

I can only guess he had a mod that had a soft switch then he didn't lock it and put it down. Some mods can stand without the button locked and not fire, some mods can't. Some mods can but only with certain battery configurations or a lighter topper.

So just use the lock ring on your mod and you'll be fine. It's a good habit to build if you are going to be putting the mod in your pocket anyway.

This makes no sense to me. The spring in the switch should not be part of the electrical circuit. People replace the spring in their switches with magnets and they work just fine.

What kind of mod do you have? And do you have it setup with the correct battery configuration? I have a nemesis clone and didn't take the middle thin beauty ring off and it wouldn't stand without firing, but after I took that off and adjusted the switch I can set it down no problem. I still almost always lock it though.

Thanks for replies. It's an Atom clone from fasttech, in the reviews people will generally say it fires when stood up when not locked.
I had just read posts were people were saying the button gets hot on their mod and it must be the switch spring being too soft, or there was that guy who said he melted 3 batteries because of a soft switch spring, he was perhaps exaggerating, got me worried though, as I'm a bit of a worrier.

What you heard was a bad case of <I have no clue what I'm doing wrong> and < I keep messing up Batteries>

Poor spring Design(Steel Springs) can cause poor resistance
Soft springs can cause easy firing on Bottom Switch mods - so Never sit them down unlocked
In APV's, soft spring may cause mod to turn off if sat down abruptly.

Hot Springs are made to collapse under excessive heat - Dead or Near short conditions, Extreme low Resistance and poor battery choice, etc.
