Mechanical mods?

don't get a provari, go mech all the way and you will never go back. you can run a mech over with a car and it will vape, you can drop it in water and grab a new battery. Not to mention you can go sub ohm or dual micro or nano coil. So easy and not even a choice between the two. I have both and my provari sits unused. Might have to put her on craigslist

If you are going to go Mech, and start building your own coils, I'd recommend getting an Evolv Kick 2, to start off with. The kick 2 will make a regulated mod out a Mechanical, and allow you builds from .5-3 ohms, and able to crank it up to 15 watts. It will also give you all the protection of a regulated mod. Then once you are proficient in builds, and want to try sub ohms, and have a good understanding of battery requirements, then can always un kick it and get into 30+ watts of vaping.

Mechs are great, love them, but I still use my Provari on a regular basis, some atomizers aren't suited for sub ohm builds, so the Provari fires them. One really needs to understand what they are getting into before venturing into the world of Mechs.

Look at a mechanical as being variable resistance instead of variable voltage. Since ohms law is a circle, and there are always three ways to get from point A to point B your e-liquid really doesn't care which mathematical formula you use. So a mechanical is just a different way to do the same thing.

Ok so I was gonna get a provari with an ig-w rba but then I heard that mech mods can handle lower ohms and stuff.. Not quite sure. So can someone explain in lamens terms what the difference between vv mods and mech mods are? And what would be better for a drip setup on an igo w

A mech draws directly from the battery, without a Kick the voltage of your vape will drop along with the battery as it depletes. A good mech that runs 18650 and is Kick friendly can be difficult to find. The EA Angel is a good choice for cheap if that is your thing. You can always run 18490/18500 with a Kick in most mechs, but of course less battery life. While you can run any resistance you like, there are those who do not like the way the vape changes as the battery runs down, or having to rely on a Kick to provide a constant wattage level. Also some do not like the lack of battery safety measures beyond a vent hole.

The Provari provides a constant voltage from first to last drag, but you can't use a resistance less than 1.3ohm. The quality is beyond question and still is the gold standard of mods. The interface is rather dated and only deals in voltage, not wattage. The best part of the Provari is that it does not use pulse width modulation like most other mods, just one exact current and the voltage you set that is bullseye perfect to that set number. Plus all the safety measures are present.

I am sitting here with a Provari and a copper Vanilla mod next to me, both have their place and are great. Get a mech for flexibility and if you tinker with RBA's. Get a Provari for consistence and easy on the fly adjustability.
