I work in a mill and it's a pretty rough environment. I was thinking about getting a mechanical since I'm constantly worried about trashing my MVP or dropping it. I was looking at the K100. I'd like to use a tank with a 2 ohm coil. I have an iclear 30s and kanger Protank 3. The part I'm confused on is battery selection. I usually work at least 10 hours a day. So if I could get by without carrying extra batteries that would be awesome. What specific battery would be best?

Basically batteries with high mah rating would last longer. At 2 ohms you will be vaping at a max of 8.82 watts at 2.1 amps on a fully charged battery but that will drop as the voltage drops. Something like this will work great. Panasonic High Drain NCR18650PD Hybrid 2900mAh Flat Top - Batteries

If you are afraid of dropping it or getting bumped around also consider a mod that will have a locking ring so it will not fire in your pocket.

That would be my recommendation too. I use the same battery with a button top. I am a chain vapor, vaping between 7 and 8 watts and it lasts me more than 10 hours.
It is a hybrid battery with safer chemistry than protected batteries and it is more suitable to a rough environment.

I have a pro tank 2 and or the record all my mech mods burn the juice if I don't use a 2.5 and even then my king with the silver connections just fires like crazy. Insane battery drainage as well, but back to the original post, wingfan is right, in his choice of hockey teams and advice ;) use 2.5 or look into a simple rebuildable atomizer, it's a whole new smoking experience.

Has said above... I would highly suggest a kick if you want to use a mech using with clearos.

Sure, when your battery is fully charge you will be getting 8 watts to your coil, but you will spend most of the time at the battery's nominal voltage of 3.7 volts minus the voltage drop of the device. Now, maybe that 6 watts is enough for you but I doubt it.

The kick will allow you to get the convenience of voltage regulation and the ruggedness of a mech.

I agree with the REO comments, that would be my suggestion as well especially considering you have a MVP so boxmod form factor doesn't seem to be an issue for you. My REO Grand with an IMR 18650 and a 6ml juice bottle gets me through an entire shift and then some (8-12 hours). Usually when I top off the juice bottle and change the battery is never lower than 3.7V after a day at work.

Plus, the REO is nearly indestructible and if it gets nasty you can literally wash it off in the sink.

    Am I +2 or +3 now ;)

The nice thing about the Reo is you don't have to use a huge ole topper that you will bust off sooner or later. For the working environment you can just stick a shorty carto on it, and you are good to go. http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?p...category_id=20&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3
The Reo also has about the nicest button lock you will ever see.

At what voltage have you set the kick to?
If he uses the kick he will need to use a smaller battery and no longer get a 10 hour vape.

These would last you all day, and maybe even two days, and you don't have to worry because it's protected: Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh Protected Button Top - Batteries
As long as you use pre built tanks or cartos you won't have a problem, if you get an RBA/RDA then you'll have to look at high drain batteries.

Get a nemesis clone. It has great airflow for the 510 connection, so you protank will work great. Also, these are the successor to the NCR18650PD, and have slightly better voltage drop: Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900 mAh

One of those should last you all day easily. Even with a 1.8Ω coil. If you're using prebuilt coils, I'd use at least a 1.8Ω. The lower resistance the better, IMO, since a mech doesn't have regulated power.
