Looking to get a decent mechanical mod and would like some input from you lovely folk. Here are some criteria:

  • $200 max (with some play, say $20 over wouldn't be out of the question)
  • Telescopic would be nice, and I'll probably be using 18650 most often but I do have 18350, 18490 & 18650 batteries
  • size isn't a huge issue but smaller would be preferred
  • in stock now
  • MUST take American Express (its all I've got for now)

I was taking a look at VapeRev & of course they are out of stock on most everything except for the Gus Telescopic SS @ $140. Which fits my criteria pretty damned nicely, but I've not read much of anything about this device or the Gus mods in general. Are they good? Feel like I had seen a blip on the button not being that great?

I've been heavily eyeing the Super T ELA, but again, they don't take American Express.

HMM I really should just get another card...

I'm not against getting a Chinese Clone as long as they will last, I'd much much rather spend a bit more now & have something that will last.

Thank you in advance, vape on & have a great day everybody

I have Gus Telescopic and have huge voltage drop on every atomizer I have (Aga-T+, mini DID, Octopus RDA) even when I replaced spring with brass screw. It's more than 1V.
I bought another mechanical mod which is all aluminium and have brass both contacts stock and have 0.3 volts drop now.
So don't buy Gus TS if you plan to use it on SLR.

Since it needs to be in stock now that throws out what i was going to suggest. So my next would be Puresmoker and the standard Legacy along with the extension sleeve(optional for kicking 18650 mode)and you have an awesome US made mech. MOD. $88.99 for the base kit $131.00 for the complete kit w/ cartos batts(again i know you have them) charger, bottle of juice.

EDIT: Forgot to mention for $29.00 you can buy the mini tube seperate w/ your kit and have a 18350 and a 18650 mech. mod you can change into using the top cap and button.
They do not take American express i could not remember just checked.

I'll check it out now

out of curiosity, what was your first suggestion.

I bought another mechanical mod which is all aluminium and have brass both contacts stock and have 0.3 volts drop now.

Good to know, as I plan on doing just that. Bummer, it looks nice. But that is a ridiculous drop.

Thank you both :)

I would go with the Poldiac. GP Paps is cheaper, but pretty good too. Kamry K100 is really budget choice, but fires very well for it's price. GUS mods and telescopics have lots of voltage drop issues - new ones have brass springs if I'm correct... but there shouldn't be springs between your battery contacts and atomizer connector. Avoid those. If you necessarily want telescopic mod, 69 or GGTS.

Yeah I may just go get a gift card and go ELA. Lifetime warranty and US made, can't seem to go wrong.

The Legacy does look nice and that is a good price. I wouldn't need the kit, have batteries/charger & two AGA-T that are all I use.

Was looking at the Poldiac just a second ago. $191 before S&H so fits the bill, looks nice, have only heard good things. Better to do it now than worry about customs in the future. I am on the list for a Caravela but it isn't until October.

I totally spaced it and I'm going to scan the Classifieds for a few too.

There was a nicely price legacy in the classys. It might still be there.

edit: I just bumped it back to the top.

There's also the electric angel (EA mod) that's in your price range and available. I don't know if they take your cc or not. I've been looking at this one and trying to decided whether to get it or just get a natural.

The EA has great reviews btw
