As of the moment i have a few basic ego's, but the consistency, flavor and vapor is just not for me. And for some reason it always floods in every single tank or carto i have bought. So i feel like its time to make the next step.

I need a new one ASAP! for this holiday season to vape away. Im just getting back into vaping and don't really know what all the new mods or functions are and have never built a mech. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

As of right now i'm thinking between a SVD or nemesis. but would building my own mech be hard or should i take a step onto variable voltages before mechs. I plan to buy them all from fasttech as i see they have great deals. If there are other mods that are better please let me know!

I would suggest getting a vv device first. That way while rebuilding coils you have a safety net of sorts. I used my stepping stone of a provari for rebuilding coils. After that I moved to mechs.

On the other side of the coin, I did use a vision spinner for a while, which I guess counts as VV, but then I went straight to a Magneto. After using a Mech and an RDA, I picked up a SiD. I very rarely use the SiD. I'm spoiled by my mech. That said, I leaned all I could about betteries, resistance, and safety before I went for a mech as my first mod. If you don't have the patience for the research, and constant vigilance, stick with a regulated mod. If you like the learning, a mech is great. Now, after all of that, I find that my experience with carto tanks has been all about flooding, and drying out too quickly for me. I just can't get behind them. I do vape at very high power though. Higher than a tank carto can keep up with...

Well for starters you don't build a mech, you build RBA/RDAs, and you don't have to use an RBA/RDA on a mech, I use a carto tank on an EAClone without any problems at all. I've tried VV/VW, and for me it's just more stuff that you have to fiddle with, with a mech and carto tank, I refill and swap the battery once a day, about every two weeks I have to swap out the carto for a new one.
