Can't really compare mechs and chips too much. They're completely different. I have a Cronus mech mod and I love it. But lately it's been all about my iPV2. 50 watts is great. I like the iPV2 because I can build at higher resistances and still get good vapor and flavor. With mechs to get the same vapor I have to build pretty low. I do love sub ohm coils but I like building some higher ohm coils too. So I think I like them both equally.

The only mechanical mod's I still use are my Reo's and 1 hydrid for it's small size. I have 6 DNA30's, a 50 watt IPV2, and 2 Sx350 mods (60watt).
I have learned to love the same hit all the way through the battery life. I like that I can plug them into my truck's lighter plug and charge them on the go.
With the newest round of 150 watt mods coming out Mechanical Mods are Yesterdays news IMO
I know there a lot of mechanical mod fans still out there but a lot of people still like Carbs I like fuel injection :)
Yeah but my 26650 mech mods are like my '71 454 Chevelle SS. Dual 750 Holley carbs, mechanical cam, aluminum big valve heads and tuned headers that still burns rubber in all 4 gears....my mech mods offer the same high performance with the right builds.. But you do have to know what you're doing...Lol

Hmmm....

My Stingray X clone with an Infinite CLT RDA. Dual coil, 24 gauge. 0.30 ohms. Vapes beautifully at about 45-50 watts, depending on the charge of my battery.

Vs

My Shotgun Mech Mod with a Plume Veil clone. Quad coil, 24 gauge. 0.15 ohms. Cloud blowing monster at 90-107 watts. Only use high VG, dessert juices at 3mg of nic or zero nic.

Vs

Vaporshark rDNA 30 with a Magma RDA. Single coil, 26 gauge. 1.3 ohms. Beautiful vape at 30 watts. Great batter life and consistent vape.

Vs

Provari Mini 2.5 (18500 Batteries) with a Kayfun Lite Plus. Single coil, 28 gauge. 1.8 ohms. I vape her at 5.1 volts. This is my long drive set up. Consistent vape with a tank that lasts for a good amount of time. Not as much vapor as the above, but flavor wise, it's up there!

I guess the winner is the one I happen to have fully charged and freshly wicked. They all work for me.

If you build them (properly), they will vape!! -field of vaping dreams :)

it really depends what you want out of your vape.
to be honest i think mechs are a lot more fun and a lot more thought goes into your build. if you want a no fuss easy vape regulated are the way to go. chips also give you that option to bump up the power on the same coil where as the power of your vape on a mech comes down to the way you build, wire gauge, ect. theres no way to increase the wattage on a mech with the same coil where if you had a regulated you have that choice.
mechs are a much more raw style of vaping. much more fun, and building super sub-ohm really keeps you on your toes by making you always check for shorts and making sure your battery doesnt get discharged to the point where you risk venting it.

I wanted to share a post with you guys. I think this is about the best post I've seen on this:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ughts-about-sub-ohm-latest-vv-vw-devices.html

That post says it all, but I cringe at the thought of even trying to wade through all 53 plus pages of that thread no doubt filled with non belivers, face palms, swimming pools (who the hell drops their rig in the pool anyway heh heh), harleys, small block chebbies and sub ohmers chuckin da cloudzzzz etc.

Lately I've been experimenting with mechs + my very "down kick(?)". 10A buck regulators only cost like €5 and you can solder the tuning components right on its legs so I'm getting a solid 3V at 95%+ efficiency.

There is a fun and cheap idea.
I retired my soldering iron long ago but the more I hang out here the more I think I may have to resurrect the old gal

I have 40 original (non-clone) mechs (yep...I am a modaholic!) and have a few DNA, etc mods. Have a Vapor Flask V1, 2, and 2.1 (DNA40) and they have become what I use for the most part. Still love the mechs - and when I build an atomizer for one, it's great - but the flexibility and consistency of the DNA, Axis, Billet Box is hard to beat.
Yeah..saving a ton of money now that I don't smoke...LOL. WORTH EVERY PENNY! I buy stuff - and it reinforces the fact...that I DON'T SMOKE!
