The only mechanical mod's I still use are my Reo's and 1 hydrid for it's small size. I have 6 DNA30's, a 50 watt IPV2, and 2 Sx350 mods (60watt).
I have learned to love the same hit all the way through the battery life. I like that I can plug them into my truck's lighter plug and charge them on the go.
With the newest round of 150 watt mods coming out Mechanical Mods are Yesterdays news IMO
I know there a lot of mechanical mod fans still out there but a lot of people still like Carbs I like fuel injection :)

agreed, and as i said before i also like extra battery capacity of the newer ones.
I have a DNA30 that i rarely ever use, and aside from my 2 Raptors, and Ranger, the Dovpo Emech set at 30w for a .9 ohms RTA has double 18650s and it rocks.
I''ll have to try keeping my DNA30 in the car :)

To each their own, that's the most important thing to remember.

For most of 2014 I've used mechs almost exclusively. I like the way they look, and vaping at around 25-30w no regulated mods that could handle that were cheap enough (for me) until fairly recently. I just ordered a Hana modz clone so we'll see how I like that. The zna30 is a pretty regulated mod (and the P3, but 20w is not quite enough for me and the price would be an obstacle) but even as clones they're fairly expensive.

Mechs do require quite a lot of maintenance though. I seem to be fiddling with mine constantly. I've also had to cut off the locking rings from a Stingray and a Nemesis. Repairable, certainly, but not indestructible by any means. Still, considering how beat up my black copper Stingray looks I bet my SVD would've been trash long ago if I'd treated it as roughly.

Yeah...especially if you want them performing consistent.. I'm sure the dust in my pocket is basically the only catalyst, and not just electricity causing oxidation.

Mech's have their place..once kicks get up to the performance of the new chips coming out... I won't hold a box again-unless it's a bottom feeder, and even then.. I prefer ovals. They just feel....golden....prime....on point...solid....great.

I love being able to leave the house with one mod, one battery (but I do take two atomizers, just inc case....had the IPV2 severe a couple of coil legs from voltage spike from my 510 screw being adjusted by my atomizers). She's even reaching for my IPV...getting ...... when I'm like meh, "but yours is so much better than mine." She says, holding a turtle ship....she almost screwed up my atomo's lock ring, not properly might I add. So she is forced to use the tobeco turtle ship, until she learns some responsibility.. that was about 6 months ago..I guess there's still hope.:)

But that is the point right there....plug and play,..... or plug and play, and then a week later, break out a tooth brush, white vinegar/other oxidation solvent, adjust for battery rattle- no I feel like using 18490, adjust for battery rattle again...:)

I gotta agree with chip guys. I do like the fact that the vape is consistent even though the battery is draining. I have noticed on the mech that I do not like the vape when the battery gets to about 70 percent. Which really makes me wonder how some people over-discharge their battery as the vape quality must be in the dirt by the time that happens. I can really notice a drop in the performance of it; to me.
Now one thing the mechs have over the chips are nicer housings. The tubes that have a slick design or cool logos etched on them is very nice to look at.

I think I'd much rather swap a battery out and be on my way than have to be "tethered" to a charging port somewhere. Try doing that at a sporting event or a concert...
I sub ohm vape all day and then some on my 26650 mech mods on a single charge.. new Keep power 4200ml batt goes even further ..don't know what you're talking about being tied to a charging port ...

In the last couple of weeks I "learned how to use a DNA device" ... it has low watts but high volts.
I tried what most DNA users are doing... making LR range coils (1 to 2 ohms), with thinner wire to get more surface area. The thinner wire doesn't hold the heat like thick wire so less to none burning juice.
A 1.5 ohms coil at 6v is awesome; tons of vapor and great flavor... or a 1 to 1.5 ohms dual coil with tons of wraps (32g wire) twice the coil surface area and upwards of 8v.
I'm hooked. Dna's go up to like 8 or 9v even (watts stay low if you use LR coils).

Some of the new high wattage boxes have high volts, but the Raptor120w, and Ranger50w only go up to 6v max... great for sub ohms.
I took most of m RTA's to LR range and higher volts.

For dual coil drippers, like Orgen2, Magma, dual coils at .25 to .50 ohms are still great, but I gave up trying to go low with my RTA's.

Just ordered a Flask DNA40, Hana DNA40, to go with the Hana 30, and the eMech30, and got 2 Raptors, a Ranger, Sig100w (9v max), ClouporT8 150w (9v).

I didn't mean to do this, have so many regulated mods, initially I went with the high watts to go sub ohms and get away from the single batt mech tubes. But every time something new came out I couldn't resist...

The DNA40 tech is going to be a different ball game, and I can't wait to see how this thing works. I figure I already know how to make the "best" setups for the "best" vape, but the 40 eliminates dry hits with like cruise-control auto temp control.

I broke down and ordered a DNA 30 also. Hasn't arrived as of yet but will post on my results at a later time.

Drop your high end chip mod by accident and more than likely it will break into junk..just like a cellphone maybe..extra electronics in a box mod are just more things that can go wrong..
I've dropped my mech mods on occasion and except for a few scratches they take the licking and keep on ticking..I'm a long haul truck driver and my mech mods have been a blessing over the road ..simple design, tough and gets the job done every time I push the button..fires my low .09-.15 ohm builds first time every time..can't ask for anything more from my high performing , tough and dependable mechanical mods

Yes they are! This one I drilled out the hole under the top cap to 5/16" for better air and the post holes for bigger parallel coils..I'm retired (from one company) but still work driving my own truck for a little extra money..Those BFM's are tough and dependable, like when I dropped one at a Montana truck stop getting out of my 18 wheeler..scratched it a little but fired right up when I hit the button..I like the zenith too especially on the stainless BFM..Both are great on the road! **note I also have a couple Provari's set-up w/kayfuns I vape behind the wheel..when I'm stopped, like getting loaded or unloaded, or at a truck stop I like to blow those huge clouds that only my mechs can deliver reliably..

By far better that the Plume Veil when set up right. I have one of those too. If I still drove I would most definitely use the REO though. Hassle free.
