I started using this- my first/ ego mega cartomizer 2 days ago and the pull had gotten worse - then suddenly the pull got better - but I heard a little sizzle. I thought it had gone dry but was only able to put about 1/2 ml in. I put it back on my ubs ego passthrough and the light started blinking as if it needed recharge - but it is connected to the ubs in my computer - that never happens.

So stupidly I try the cartomizer on another ego - I take a puff and I here a sizzle - I take my finger off the button and it is still sizzling.

I try good atomizers on both egos - the ubs egos light just blinks. The other ego lights properly but does not heat the atomizer. I try to recharge the ego on two different charges - the green lights stay on though it is not fully charged.

This stupid mega cartomizers has just shorted out 2 egos.

Could it be possible that juice is leaking out the battery contact end of the cartomizer and shorting out the battery?
I just started using the mega cartos on my eGo yesterday and I find that, after a fresh fill, I need to clean juice off of the battery contact end, maybe two or three times, until it stops oozing out.

I take my mega off to fill it and use the little bottom rubber it came with as a base, since they do seem to leak a bit when filling.

No - it wasn't leaky e-juice - though that can be a problem with these.
It was a shorted mega ego cartomizer that quickly killed 2 batteries. And as flbutterfly1 post shows - it is a problem that happens occasionally with all types attys and cartomizers.

The main thing though - is that it is infrequent enough - is that if suddenly one battery starts acting weird - is that one naturally tries that atty/carto out on another battery - and if the atty/carto is shorted - it will kill the second battery too.

More experienced posters have always pointed out the importance of having a voltage meter around to test your pv
out on. Since I have no idea how to work one and not wanted the extra cost - I have always passed on that.
More and more I realize it is important and I need to get one and learn how to use it.

... can't argue with your observations, we have all done it. A carto or atty shorting out is not a common occurrence. A decent MM is worth its weight in gold and much cheaper than replacing 2 eGo batteries.

can get a cheap meter at harbor frieght tools for like $2
cheap meters provide cheap results (inaccurate) a MM has other uses outside vaping.
I assume ya'll mean testing out the atty/carto for a short rather than the PV but how would you do it? Touch the center part of the atty and the outer part(threads) and make sure the resistance (ohms) is what it should be?
correct.
