My brother got that a couple weeks ago. He was over yesterday and I tried it. It's nice -- none of what you mentioned. He hasn't had any problems with it thus far.
My first post in ECF was about my Melo leaking, but I think it was my operator error and inexperience with modern tanks. I may not have made everything tight when I assembled it after cleaning for the first time. I also didn't know the trick to open/close air flow when filling or leaving to sit overnight. Since then, I have not had issues with leaks. I do like the set up now that I know how to use it.
Can't speak to the leaking except in my experience it's usually newbie user error.
The Pico is a temp control device and yet contains no TC coils in the box. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but if you wanna use it in TC mode you'll need to buy a whole box of coils, either NI200 or TI before knowing if you like one or the other or neither.
My Melo 3 leaked but I'm leaning towards the cause being the change in altitude. On my drive home from work, I ascend 2000 feet in about 15 minutes. Not sure if this could be the cause, just speculation on my part. I cleaned it and boxed it up for later.
I got mine today and really love the look and feel, the mini tank is really small tho. but i was loving it until about 10ml into it my coils were fried. 4 hours. im pretty ...... but i will see what the second coil does. my plan is to rebuild the heads (MELO REBUILD TUTORIAL= ) OR BUY THE ASPIRE ATLANtis rba head but wtf if the coils are only going to last a few hours forget it. Can anyone else comment on the longevity of these heads? Also - a littl popping but no spit back. It will leak a little if you try hard (open the airflow and shake upside down) but basically it does not leak.
I have had no leaking or spit back from the melo 3 mini that comes with the pico kit. It has a small capacity that might put some off, but I like the smaller capacity tank personally. The flavor is a bit muted imo but it's still a good tank.
The pico mod it's self though is awesome. Super small and comfortable to hold and I've had no issues with performance. I have multiple pico mods now and so far all 3 have worked great.

Some websites do sell individual coils, I know My Vapor Store sells individual melo coils because I bought one of each to try when I ordered the kit. Though I'm not sure how many other places do.
I don't use the Melo 3 mini but I do use the Melo & Melo 2. There are a LOT of coils available - Eleaf, Alantis, Triton and I use the cCell by Vaporesso. 0.9 ohm kanthal, ceramic coil. It has outstanding flavor and longevity. My Pico should be here tomorow!
Not tried the Melo3 as bought it without the Tank and got the Smok TFV4 micro and used the 3.5ml glass extension (rather then the 2.5ml one).
Orderd up the full kit with Melo tank fro my brother that should arrive this week tho.
Here is some photos to keep you going.
I bought the kit a couple weeks ago. No problems with spitting or sputtering.
I use the Ccell NI 0.2 ohm ceramic coils, since they fit several other tanks I have.
I have not had to change the coil yet.
