Kiki, yet another Maine .... came to me at 6 months old. She is a darling.

Joshua & Sebastian where just about to be taken to the RSPCA when I heard about their plight. So they came to live with me 2 years ago

Well I live in a rural area and we kind of have a "hobby farm" or as my neighbor calls it "a petting zoo". So here is a little run down...

3 Goats - Petey, Daisy & Baab (pronounced like Saab the car)
2 Bunnies - Honey Buns & Stanlee (we discovered Stanlee was a girl this past fall when she surprised us with 4 baby bunnies. OMG they were so cute!)
19 chickens - Don't worry I didn't name them all (Great organic eggs though!)
4 Ducks - Mousse, Pate, Solveig & Bert
1 Turkey - Hank (he has survived 6 Thanksgivings so far)
1 Cat - Scooter
1 Dog - Tico (my Dad's American Eskimo)

So yes... This is my happy little world

Geez.. I thought it was bad enough with our 3 horses, 2 black labs, 1 house cat, and god knows how many barn cats. They exhaust me with their needs.

The wife started talking a while back about a goat for a companion for our retired 32 yr old Arabian, as well as some chickens to make our lil hobby farm more "farmy", lol... No way !!! there's only so many hours in a day !!

We are suckers for rescues.

Smokumchevy, a goat would be an awesome pasture pal for your retired Arabian. As far as chickens, they are sooo easy to take care of. People really get a kick out of chickens and you could keep them free range and just keep them in a Coop in a pen at night so the other critters don't get to them.

Just siding with the wife, you know we women kind of stick together!

I love cats at least as much as i love vapin, and i would like to share an info with all the cat-lovers (eek this sound sooo wrong!) out there. PG is actually harmful to your lovely pets, so make sure to keep em at bay while vapin. TBH, I don't think that the vapor can really harm em, but I'd better be safe than sorry.

Propylene glycol was once a common ingredient in soft moist cat food. According to the FDA "It was known for some time that propylene glycol caused Heinz Body formation in the red blood cells of cats (small clumps of proteins seen in the cells when viewed under the microscope), but it could not be shown to cause overt anemia or other clinical effects. However, recent reports in the veterinary literature of scientifically sound studies have shown that propylene glycol reduces the red blood cell survival time, renders red blood cells more susceptible to oxidative damage, and has other adverse effects in cats consuming the substance at levels found in soft-moist food.
