Your best bet is to order a pre-mixed menthol liquid. Many people (including myself) have used crystals with varying success - sometimes it's too strong or too weak.

What are they? Do you add to juice to make it menthol. I am not a menthol smoker but have heard that menthol juice gives more of a throat hit. Also do they make it taste minty?

Any imput would be appreciated

I use menthol crystals to make my 0mg e juice, no menthol itself doesnt really have a throat hit (i get a lil hit when i use the SD). From what i've noticed so far the throat is based on the nicotine content. And yes it does taste really minty. Oh and they're crystals you can crush them into a powder and them add them to ur e liquid or your DIY recipe, and they're really strong so you don't have to use too many.

Thats some good advice there, DIY e liquids are only worth while when making 0mg juice in my opinion. Oh and the store bought menthol liquids just aren't strong enough, for me anyway.

Menthol can be minty, depending on the strength. But, it's nothing to play with in crystal and pure liquid form. Those of us that use it, dissolve it in either 100% distilled water, or a mix of distilled with absolute 100 proof vodka. It does improve the sensation of a throat hit.....more so for the menthol smoker, but not everyone is a menthol smoker, so you may not like it.

If your stateside, (you should atleast update your location) you could go to a pharmacy chain and ask for menthol crystals, in that way....not crystal menthol (you'll draw much attention to yourself) anyway, ask for 2 grams. Most chains, such as CVS, Walgreens can't price that amount, so it's likely they'll give it to you for free since your not asking for a large amount that they couldn't just give it to you(this is how I did it for a month, before they caught on.) You don't need a script, but most pharmacies don't sell it out in the open.

You really should use gloves or tweezers when handling and be careful that you don't crush it into a fine powder. Obviously, the finer it gets, the more likely it can go airborne....menthol concentrate is something you don't want to get in your eyes. It can blind you and if not...., well imagine someone came by and rubbed icyhot in your eyes.

I mix my menthol crystals in 11-18mg juice. If I make a batch too strong, I can just dilute it with a 50/50 Commercial juice/VG or PG mix. I got mine from Mountain Rose Herbs | Bulk organic herbs, spices & essential oils for $10 for a 2oz. package, which equates to a lifetime supply.
This is where I got mine from, if your lifetime supply runs out:p
MENTHOL CRYSTALS 4 Ounces oz Mentha arvensis 100% pure - eBay (item 190318933687 end time Aug-01-09 22:48:36 PDT)

This seller takes forever to get it to you(14 days), but it's worth it.
Cheapest I've been able to find.

I'm a menthol smoker, so every flavor is mentholated and tastes that much better! Except vanilla....I hate vanilla to begin with, but I was sure menthol would fix it!

Haha yeah, I love how everything can be turned into menthol and still taste great. :D

I just revisited MRH because I've been waiting for them to get some more Clove Bud essential oil back in stock and BINGO, they got some in so I placed an order, along with some pipettes and 8oz. amber bottles so I can seperate the 1 liter of juice I've got coming. I plan on making some clove juice since you can't find it anywhere, sure hoping I can make something good. :)

That's quite costly for their essential oils, $32.00 for 4 ounces? Try here, 4 ounces $13.99 faerie's finest - pure, natural essential oils

also, alot of their flavor extracts are either Water and Glycol, or Water and Alcohol, each one is listed.

Wow that's a good deal! I just got 1oz to try it, if it does the trick I'll definitely go to that site to get the 4oz. Thanks for the link. :)

No problem, actually if it wasn't for Lu I would have never found that site either. I ordered their 4 pack assortment, (lets you pick four 2 oz bottles of what ever extract) on Saturday for $13.95 +6 shippin. Hope to get this soon. Love that most of the extracts are already PG and Water and I'm thinking these are the same flavors most of the vendors use. Wish me luck, or this is gonna be 8 oz's of more CRAP that I'll never use.:(

I wonder if you could use the flavor powders too. I've had liquid that I wanted to have a stronger flavor, but didn't want to dilute the strength of. This playing with flavors is becoming an obsession. I ordered 10 Bickford flavors last night and I'm already looking at other places to order and other flavors that I want to try in the future.

I was wondering this too. I may order some to test out. But not through my atty.

It'll probably require dilution with distilled water, PG, and alcohol, but how much before losing flavor or making it too concentrate like a syrup, not sure....but I'll let it sit in the bottle for a couple days to see if there is full dissolvement and then let some dry on some surfaces to make sure there isn't any crusty residue after all the liquid has evaporated. Only then would I test it though my atty's.
