Coining a new phrase....Menthol Drift

When I was smoking, I was a regular cig smoker 99% of the time. I would only smoke menthols when I had a cold. As it happened, just as I was starting to vape....I snagged a cold, so ordered some menthols. Even after the cold had run its course, I still vaped the menthols. Then started to up the ammount of menthols I was vaping. I am now vaping menthol about 40% of the time. I have found that, for me, menthol vaping is closer to menthol smoking than regular vaping is to regular smoking...so starting to drift to menthol more. Has anyone else felt this?

I too have found the menthols to be the most satisfying, and I was never a menthol smoker. It seems like I switch in a different flavor now just for variety. To me, the menthols taste like smoking menthols, but much better, while the tobacco flavors taste sort of like unlit cigarettes.

i've had the same experience over the past 4 weeks since I joined the vaping club... i was a marlboro smoker so I ordered cowboy with my starter kit. HATED them. only vaped one and have subsequently been trying to wash the taste out of the other 4 so I can re-use the cartos. :)

I've also tried 555, virginia, spirit.... not a fan of any of them.

But even though I probably smoked 5 menthols in my life, Cool is slowly becoming a carto that I have with me all the time.

I love mint and have tried many menthol flavors from V4L. Mint refills are better than most refills for some reason...juice must just be more accurate or something. Kamel menthol is good too because there is a good menthol flavor and barely any tobacco flavor (in my opinion). Smilin is also one of my faithful menthol flavors. I used to smoke marlboro smooth (which are a different, sweeter, peppermint tasting menthol cigarette) for 1 year before switching to ecigs, and before that American Spirit Mediums (no menthol) & Marlboro lights before that...total of 18 years of smoking.

I also like black tea, most of all non menthols because they taste PERFECT new and the refills stay true to taste for many more refills.

I am slowly but surely running all the tobacco flavors. Some are OK...many I do not like at all...but only a couple I can say I really like. Kant and Parlament so far. You may want to try those two, if you haven't yet. Cool was too menthol for me, so settled on Nuport which gives the menthol feeling, but not over-powering.

I was a Newport Light menthol smoker, so had an obvious bias toward menthol PV flavors. Like many others however, I discovered numerous other interesting and surprising options. Been vaping since October, but switched to V4L in January (much much happier now). Throughout this time I have been dripping primarily JC and more recently V4L juices, but I always migrate back toward menthols. In my case, the novelty of the more exotic flavors has kind of worn off. I like V4L menthol choices better than JC (Arctic Mint), but can't decide which of them I like better - they are all very good even the plain old menthol. I need to try the Kool yet, but love the Nuport and Smilin Menthol probably the best of all the juices so far period. There is a reason analog menthols are so popular, something about the cooling affect on the hot smoke I think, which naturally translates to the PV experience as well.

Not to be redundant or to mix threads, but I will repeat my affirmation of the V4L freebie policy. There are far too many flavors to specifically order, and when V4L throws in even just one cart of something I would never have thought of trying, it really makes my day. Keep up the great work guys, I can't wait to see what little something comes in my next order :)

I agree, Max. I especially like Mint now. But even more so, I find that some the of chocolately flavs (like drk choc rasp) and the coffee flavs (like CM Frapp) have become great substitutes for tobac. In fact, the only tobac flav I still use is Parl green, which has that chocolate undertone.

Others here predicted it right for me: start with the tobac flavs (Cowboy helped me quite cigs cold turkey) and then move on to all the better-tasting stuff.

I just tried my hand at filling a blank carto (I'm still pretty new to this) and I used mint... So far, it's quickly becoming my preference. Like Stoked said above, the mint seems to have a really flavorful and cooling hit and really gives me the sense of smoking a menthol (even though I never smoked the analog menthols). So yes... another drifter here :D

For those who smoked menthol day in and day out, the coll refreshing taste dissipates over time. You smoked them occasionally. Now that you smoke 'em constantly? what you are experiencing is normal.

No holes barred here, I am not into vaping! Just an alternate to quit my 40+ year nicotine habit provided to me with 4K+ chemicals.

I remember what tobacco tasted like and the following addiction. I'm sticking to tobacco vs "tuity fruity" (no offense intended) I alternate between cigs, marlboro/menthol. Being a previous premium cigar smoker, I have Cuban cigar juice, that satisfied that need.
