Sorry, I just wanted to give a shout out to the juice that keeps me off cigarettes. Seems like every other flavor's thread got revived, so I had to start this one up.

For this who haven't tried it, it's a strong menthol that's got a touch of candy cane syrupy-ness to it IMO. For me, it borders on being a bit too harsh when the tank is full and the regular Triton battery just came off the charger. If you've tried Mystic and/or Cool Mist, it's very similar, but it's got more flavor and a bit stronger.

My only criticism is that when I sort of chain vape it (I usually vape 10-15 drags at a time, like smoking a cigarette), I get a black peppery effect in my throat and top of my lungs every now and then. It also dries me out more than any other flavor I've tried. The peppery feeling becomes worse when the tank gets low and/or when the battery runs down. Combine both of those, and it's a mess for me. I ran a tank down to about .4ml, and it was like that last sip of a 40oz of Olde English or Colt .45 back in the day. And my battery was pretty much drained, intensifying the effect

Just wondering, is the pepper sensation from PG?

Menthol Ice is a great juice that doesn't get the love it deserves IMO.

So you do find it strong? I've had 2 ex-menthol stinky users who've tried it and are having difficulties with the inhales. I've tried it for a few puffs more than once, and thought it was more of a mild menthol. I was never a menthol smoker, but a full flavored cigarette user, and I didn't find the tastes of Menthol Ice too off putting.

Peppery sensation is usually from the nicotine I find, unless it's an added flavor in some juices.

A first I found it a touch too harsh on the inhale. A full tank and a battery right off the charger made for a combo that I almost couldn't vape. I've gotten used to it, but every once in a while it'll be a bit too harsh when the tank's just been filled.

The way I controlled the harshness early on was to start my draw a second or so before pressing the button, and let go of the button a second or so before finishing the draw; basically start and end the draw with a second of no vapor. Once i started doing that is when I knew my smoking days were over for good. I don't know when I stopped doing that, but I don't need to anymore.

As odd as it sounds, Menthol Ice wasn't my favorite tasting juice when I first started, but it was (and still is) by far the most satisfying. I liked Tiki Juice and HX3 a lot better, but after 10-15 drags of those two, I wasn't completely satisfied for very long. There were (and still are) times where I vape a different flavor and finish with 1-3 drags of Menthol Ice. I know it all sounds pretty crazy, but that's the way it is. With Menthol Ice, my vaping habit is exactly like my smoking habit - 10-15 drags every hour and a half or so.

As stupid as it sounds, it tastes best with the tank at about 2ml. Or with a twist battery.

I'm starting to think that peppery effect is more of a dry hit? It's an itchy/scratchy feeling. Can taste slightly acidic. Very hard to describe. After paying closer attention, it typically starts below 1.4ml. If I hold the tank upside down for a second or so, it'll usually go away. Didn't think dry hits were the possible cause before I started trying to figure it out.

Last thought - it tastes pretty had when the coil goes. It doesn't taste like a charred wick like pretty much every other juice, it tastes like gummy/gunky/way too old candy cane. Every other juice so far had a burnt flavor when the coil or wick was done. Not this one.

Forgot to mention - if starting and finishing the draw without pressing the button doesn't help make Menthol Ice smooth enough, they should try Mystic or Cool Mist. They're not all exactly the same, but are very, very similar in flavor. If they were cigarettes, it would be

Menthol Ice - full flavor
Mystic - medium
Cool Mist - light

I think Sub Zero has very little resemblance to any of these. It's they're all menthol, but that's where the similarity ends IMO.

I just had a vape after typing all that. Fresh battery and full tank. Taking a split second before and after pressing the button definitely still makes a huge difference. It cuts out the harshness and brings out that touch of sweetness and menthol coolness. I'll have to remember that more often.

The draw also makes a huge difference. I had a tank that the draw was a little too tight on. I barely got any throat hit and it tasted too sweet. It was almost like vaping syrup at times.

All IMO and ymmv of course.

I'm so upset because I'm experiencing this "harshness" too! First day was fine for me til the end of my 2nd day with it, and I've bought two more 30mL bottles of this stuff before I had that problem.

I'm new to vaping so maybe it's just my body. Other than that, I'll have Menthol Ice on rotation with other juices.
